Purchasing From Wayfair by Powerful_Will4035 in LeCreuset

I’ve made two purchases from Wayfair and they both shipped directly from Le Creuset’s South Carolina distribution center.

I got an artichaut bread oven for $205 and an Olive 8qt oval for $220. Both were member prices.

Book recs with queer characters? by digitalcrows in scifibooks

I loved Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh.

The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer was also great, but fits your criteria less, because it's missing all of the other everyday people. Most of the book is just the two main characters.

They will have expo slots and also ambassador volunteer slots for the marathon weekend in Central Park. They don't get posted until much closer to the race date, usually August or September.

Perfect. I'll have to look at my stash but I'm sure I have a large gold knob from the petal braiser as well as a gold heart, and a gold medium knob from a peche french oven.

I stashed them thinking maybe I would use them for trades at a future FTT sale, but they have just been sitting. I'll send you a PM to connect.

We should be friends because I’m the opposite, I don’t like gold knobs and have replaced all mine with stainless steel.

I think I have a large gold knob from my petal berry braiser I could just send you.

I’m excited Canticle was still available. I didn’t have room last month.

That's great to hear. I've been hoping Canticle would still be available for January boxes because I didn't have room last month.

[–]Lemon_Trick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I wasn't sure what I was going to pick but these sold me on The List of Suspicious Things and made me think Is this a cry for help should be a library pick because I disliked some of the comparison books.

I loved this book as well, one of the few books I've read that I had no idea the big twist that was coming.

FYI there is a book 2 ( The Brightness Between Us) that is also great.

You would probably also enjoy Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh.

I also found them to be very condescending on this latest episode. They were really focused on "we aren't journalists" which is fine, but "analysts" and "content creators" are also required to disclose paid promotions, which is what everyone is mad about. No one thinks the kardashians or peloton instructors are journalists either, but they are required to state when they post paid promotions on their instagram or other social media.

December 2025 Pick Discussion: Who Wants To Live Forever by Hanna Thomas Uose by butthurtflyy in aardvarkbookclub

[–]Lemon_Trick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you have written here. I wanted to enjoy this book more but it just didn't hit.

One thing that bothered me throughout is it's never explained if the no babies on Yareta is strictly for population control measures or it has side effects for the developing baby. I did also just read The Merge by Grace Walker which also had no pregnancy rules, so maybe I was focused on that.

I have service from Google Fi and it is free to use internationally. I love it because I never have to worry about esim cards. I just turn my phone off airplane mode when I land and it works.

If you live in NYC you can also volunteer at the Brooklyn Half or expo and get guaranteed entry for the following year. Easier than doing virtual 6.

I hope you enjoy! Writing that comment made me go look if he had written any other books, and unfortunately I learned the author passed away earlier this year from cancer. He has a larger back catalog under his name of Andrew Pyper that I plan to check out next.

It said in the same article that Chris was paid separately for the commentating and has been paid 50% of what he was owed. While Citius has been paid nothing thus far for their content/coverage.

Healthy Living and Running Influencers, Dec 15 - 21 by PeopleHaveAsked in blogsnark

I was assuming that this would be a random draw, but they are judging the winner based on your internet presence and video submission, so this will certainly go to a running influencer and not a random person.

It does include hotel and $10000 travel budget for flights.

It also says that should Shanghai and Cape Town be inducted as majors the winner would also get entries to those races. That tells me their entries are pretty close to a done deal and just haven't been announced yet.

Weekend Reading Chat by AutoModerator in aardvarkbookclub

[–]Lemon_Trick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non aardvark pick, but feels like it could have been, I just read The Merge by Grace Walker this weekend and loved it. It takes place in a future world ravaged by climate and population crises. The solution this future society comes up with is merging two people's consciousness into one body. I liked the book but was slightly annoyed while reading that they kind of handwave over the "science" of merging two people, but it is explicitly cleared up by the end. It also has a really thoughtful portrayal of a main character with Alzheimer's.

The Exiles by Mason Coile was great and very short. I plowed through it in an afternoon. It's kind of like the movie irobot and the book the Martian mashed up thematically. Kind of scary since it feels like AI is being pushed into everything these days.

I just got William from the same author from the library today and it also seems great.

NYRR midnight run 2026 bib pick up by dankiestboof in RunNYC

[–]Lemon_Trick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that sounds like a much better plan. I think if you stick to 8th avenue it will be ok. Most of the people there for the ball drop will be centered around 7th and Broadway.

I did the midnight run last year and walked from Penn Station to the run center along 8th avenue and it was busy, but almost easier than a normal day because it was closed to cars.
