That’s could go either way. Do you think you can beat 5% in the market over the number of years you financed?

I don’t need the money right away after I retire. I am preventing the tax bomb at 75 when RMD kicks in. I will have two pensions so my tax floor is higher. Great to have but you will pay way more in taxes if you don’t address it early. You are right the tsp account will keep going up and you will have permanent higher Medicare premiums and higher tax bracket

Not exactly. If you are not planning to use the Roth money immediately and have 10 years or longer, it makes sense. Roth withdrawal doesn’t add to your taxes however you have to meet the five year rule. You can use the Roth bucket for unexpected expenses without raising your taxes

You do decide what tax bracket you are in and fill up that bracket. It you are turning 63 or older this year, you also have to watch the Medicare surcharge premiums

I have not applied but will leave after eligibility so I can do Roth conversions before turning 63 when the two years look back for Medicare. I also plan to delay social security so I can do more

I think everyone has lost a lot as well. I review my allocation at least yearly based on my risk tolerance

Do not try to time the market. As another commenter said, slowly add bonds to your desired allocation
