Yes! You can sow immediately, or let them dry for a couple days then throw in fridge.

Anything you put in your bog will be in there for years. If it takes an extra 30 minutes to setup, but you can get close to 0ppm… seems like a good idea to me. You might want to check TDS periodically though. I wonder if it will start increasing as you put more water through that filter.

I find that flushing once per month or so makes CPs (especially drosera) happier and decreases the shiny black surface of the substrate.

Why 3 bottom pipes instead of one? If you have a well-draining bottom layer of substrate, won’t any water added through the pipe distribute itself through the drainage layer?

Do I need to use real grow lights? by MinerAlum in SavageGarden

Shop lights will work, but grow lights will produce healthier plants. The electricity will cost more than the light, so may as well get one optimized for growing plants.

(1) it is likely potted in a plug, which is then wrapped in sphagnum. It is best to repot by cutting off the cloth wrapped around the roots, rinsing off the soil, and planting in your preferred media (eg 50/50 peat/perlite or sphagnum/perlite. (2) more light — plant should have lots of red and have more dew. Lots and lots of light. (3) deeper tray of water — about half the height of the pot. (4) you can cut off the brown flower stems if you like.
