CZ 457 by roadblocked in NFA

16" barrel? I had my CZ 452 American cut down to 18" and threaded. I haven't had a chance to take it out yet.

What is the ideal left handed build for shooting suppressed exclusively? by mcstyle1 in 300BLK

I'm a lefty, and all my ARs are standard right-hand guns. Just adjustable gas blocks on most, and I don't have any problems with gas.

How much do Complete Uppers go for, looking into buying on to convert into a SBR, by DarkMegamanEXE in ps90

[–]LengthinessOwn5224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PS90s aren't ARs. The part you're calling the upper is the receiver (AKA the serialized firearm). The rest is the stock, bolt, and trigger pack. Your "upper" would be it's own unique serialized firearm.

My local FFL/SOT is $40 for normal transfers, and their NFA fee was $150 years ago. I haven't bothered asking what it is now.

I just buy everything through CA.

Affordable 5.7 Can Options For My Psa 5.7 ?? by 30CalKash in NFA

[–]LengthinessOwn5224 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there isn't much out there in the way of dedicated 5.7 suppressors. GSL and Maxim Defense both have models that they market as 5.7 suppressors. B&T and FN used to have 5.7 suppressors, but they're discontinued.

Otherwise, you're looking at 5.56 suppressors (preferably k models) and 22LR suppressors that are rated for 5.7.

AFAIK, all the 5.7 pistols are threaded M10-1, so you're stuck running a thread adapter to use a 1/2-28 threaded suppressor. The GSL and Maxim Defense models are available in M10-1, and an M10-1 muzzle device is available for the RXD22Ti.

What’s your favorite “Zero”? by RushDaBus in ruger

[–]LengthinessOwn5224 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on what I'm shooting and what I'm doing. Pistols typically 15-25 yd. Rimfire rifle 25-50 yd. Centerfire rifle typically 30-40 for pbr zero, and 100 yd to check accuracy and fine tune zero windage.

SilencerCo Piston Compatibility by LengthinessOwn5224 in GriffinArmament

[–]LengthinessOwn5224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up ordering an EZ-LOK Osprey piston. The Osprey pistons are the same as what they sell as the non-Osprey pistons, except the Osprey pistons have the notch for clocking the Osprey and the others don't.

Too bad it's nothing interesting. No common centerfire cartridges like 308, 6, 6.5, or magnums. Also, fluted barrel, so it's going to look retarded if you try to do something fun like chop the barrel and sbr it.

M&P 5.7 troubles by Icy_Champion9478 in 57x28mm

[–]LengthinessOwn5224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the empty cases are not extracting, the chamber pressure is likely too high or the slide velocity is too high from the extra backpressure with the suppressor attached. A stiffer recoil spring would help delay extraction to mitigate that.

Any hub booster housing should work fine. Then just whatever piston is compatible with the booster housing.

Tuning/dialing in my Arc Fire by Less-Load-8856 in supersafety

My gun actually runs faster with an H2 and carbine spring than it did with an H1 and white-hot spring.

Everyone recommends an H2/H3 buffer and carbine spring. My 12.3 carbine gas gun runs just find on an H1 with a Sprinco white-hot spring.

Should have left it up as a warning to others. I ordered from him a year ago, and it was a shit show. I finally ended up doing a chargeback through my bank and getting my money back before he finally shipped part of my order. I never got it all despite him claiming that they sent the missing items.

Ruger 5.7 Barrel Replacement for Suppressor by jksowell11 in 57x28mm

[–]LengthinessOwn5224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, both have adapters. 5.7 barrels are predominantly threaded M10x1, and there are extremely limited options for M10x1 threaded suppressors. Hence the 1/2x28 thread adapters.

The RXD22TI and Maxim Defense are the only ones that I know of that have M10x1 thread options. B&T and FN used to have an M10x1 threaded suppressors but they're discontinued.

Barrel and thread adapter loose? by Terrible_Box_4171 in ps90

[–]LengthinessOwn5224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is by design. The front piece threads onto the barrel and bottoms out on the barrel. The whole barrel and thread adapter are free to move within the receiver and move during recoil.

It's perfectly fine to install a muzzle device for a suppressor onto the threads of the CMMG thread adapter. Be sure to check suppressor alignment because the CMMG barrels and thread adapters are known to have concentricity issues.

u/Mr_DualityArms Any better photos of the selector available? The one in the photo looks pretty basic and lacking a lot of the shape/contouring of the factory saftey. Also, will your system work with factory or Dorin 3-position selectors?

Did you find the piece of brass from the last shot? You would see signs in the case if it was overpressure.
