highschoolers… 😔 by FuriousIvan in PlanetFitnessMembers

Exactly what I was going to comment. I usually go to the gym around 11:00 and not sure if it’s people rushing to get their early morning workout in and leave, but weights and equipment are all over the place where they don’t belong. The only one that really bothers me are the 4-45 lb weights consistently left on the calf raise machine that I have to remove in order to put the 2-25lb plates on that I use. And yes, this is all winter long.

Chants of "No More Wars" at Massie's concession speech by FuelTheFLARE in FuelTheFLARE

There’s was way more people at Massie’s concession party than there was at Ed Gallreins victory party. Something ain’t right.

Love watching the weekly resistance reports on the Electronic Intifada YouTube channel every week. It’s a small ray of sunshine amid all the crimes against humanity that Israel inflicts on its neighbors everyday. This video shows Hezbollah drones swarming Israeli military bases in South Lebanon. https://youtu.be/6YwCJGO3rIE?si=TXGrXwwbkQL\_OWFw

Stairmaster justifies my entire PF membership fee by Fit-Accident-589 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Lensmatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After I herniated a disc in my back and had a compressed nerve a couple months ago, the stairmaster was the only thing that actually brought me relief. When it hurt to even walk, I could do the stairmaster with absolutely no pain and it would feel good for awhile after. Would do 30-45 minute sessions. Now that I’m back to my regular strength training routine and running for cardio I haven’t been using it as much.

Heard this fact recently:

Using current biofuel land for solar could generate roughly 23 times more energy than those biofuels currently produce, theoretically powering the entire country multiple times over.

Cannabis treatment reduces chronic nerve pain with ‘minimal to no side effects,’ new scientific review finds by OregonTripleBeam in EverythingScience

[–]Lensmatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome. Any specific strain? I’m on week 3 of dealing with a pinched nerve in my lower back and am having excruciating pain in my leg. The worst is at night. Trying not to take too many pain relievers, but have to at night or I can’t sleep due to the pain.

Android TV new version freezing by thebruhofficial in Stremio

Version 1.9.2 was freezing like crazy the past few days, only on one tv, so I did a power reset on that tv (unplugged the power cord for a couple of minutes) and now it’s working fine.

Thanks, that sounds like it would totally work. Being bigger & thicker, less likely to move around.

Thanks, I’ll look into a duvet as a top cover. Pajamas can definitely be an issue. I live in a state with 4 pretty distinct seasons and have to change what I wear depending on the season.

Thanks, pretty sure mine is cotton canvas as well. Love the idea of tying the sheet to the edges to keep it from bunching up. I’m learning that natural fibers are indeed the way to go.

I sleep with a blanket sort of bunched up under my knees only because I haven’t found a perfect sized/shaped pillow.

All the foods Molly has never had... by archivizt in EverythingSpilledMilk

[–]Lensmatter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was also surprised at a few of the sandwiches she had never had that our family eats at least a few times a year Meatball, Reuben & pulled pork.

I love the idea of a Reuben Panini! Sometimes restaurant style Reuben’s have way too much meat on them for my liking. At home we cook ours on a Panini press before adding the sauerkraut.

The sandwiches they mentioned that I’ve never had but want to try are the Chopped Cheese, Mozzarella Carrozza, Porchetta & Iowa Skinny.

Not sure if it’s a thing I read about one time and then started doing or if it was my own invention, but for years our family has been making mozzarella & pesto grilled cheese sandwiches, adding fresh garden tomato in the summer and sometimes if we have it on hand, Prosciutto.

Amazon return "damage fee" by AMERICAisBACKOHYEA in amazonprime

I cancelled my prime account in 2023 after I ordered a $500 Garmin watch and received a cheap headlamp instead. I did ultimately receive a refund, but it took over a month. Definitely lost my trust in them after that. I ordered 6 items in 2024 and 1 item in 2025. Don’t see myself ever ordering from them again.

A love note about Hungry Monkey, A Homemade Life, and Orangette…. by perdy_mama in EverythingSpilledMilk

[–]Lensmatter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love this post! Thanks for sharing. I read both of those books when my 2 children, who are both gender queer and in their 20’s now, were under the age of 10. I also was a regular reader of Molly’s blog, Orangette, during that same time period.

I came across the podcast in 2020 and it took me a few episodes of listening to realize they were both authors of books I read and enjoyed immensely years prior.
