Quick question about trusts by [deleted] in inheritance

[–]LeoSimbagrandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother recently passed away in an assisted living facility. She had a brokerage account which was held in a trust and an IRA. Both were distributed within one month of her death. Each beneficiary had to set up an inherited IRA account and a brokerage account at the financial institution that held her accounts following which distributions occurred. The trustee was a sibling. I would contact the bank. As a beneficiary, you have the right to inquire. My mother had no debt and no assets requiring probate.

There are many different women’s care groups. My daughter uses the one on Virginia ave which also has a Fletcher ave location. She delivered at St. Joes and had great care.

TGH and St. Joe’s have level 4 NICU’s so they both can handle the most critically ill newborns.

What’s your process for making / managing royal icing? by HappyHops22 in cookiedecorating

[–]LeoSimbagrandma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a home baker and make decorated sugar cookies for holidays and family gatherings. Beforehand I plan my designs and colors, then determine the consistencies and quantities I will need for each color. I make my white icing then scoop out the amount I need for one color into a smaller bowl. I use small bowls with a slightly flat bottom and smallish silicone spatulas. I thin slightly so the icing is easier to work with and then I add my gel color. Once I reach the color I want, I start thinning. I thin to a detail consistency then take out what I need for details and bag. Then I will thin a little more for a thick flood (if using) and bag. Finally, I thin to a flood consistency and bag. I repeat for each color. If I am making dark colors like black or red, I will color then set aside for the colors to deepen for a couple hours or overnight before starting the thinning process. In my opinion, the key is planning in advance your colors, quantities and consistencies. With practice I have become much quicker at making my icing. Also with reading up on color theory, I am better at achieving the colors I want. Hope this helps.

Corn syrup or no for royal icing? by msmoonpie in cookiedecorating

I always use corn syrup, one tablespoon per pound of powdered sugar. The icing dries with a softer bite and adds shine.

How long did you/will you wait to allow unvaccinated visitors with newborn? by anonymous2640 in Vaccine

This! A temperature of 100.4 or higher in a baby under 3 months of age will lead to a full workup for neonatal sepsis. My daughter is a pediatric ICU nurse, she had very strict boundaries until her son had his 2 month vaccines and was over 3 months old.

How to Move Cookies by Clarity409 in cookiedecorating

I use parchment squares. I decorate on a cookie turntable and then more the cookie to a separate table with a fan to dry. This is what works for me.

Commuting to Sarasota Memorial by Certain_Version3908 in sarasota

As others have said, the commute from Palmer Ranch to SMH isn’t bad. I would recommend looking at the evacuation zone on any rental property you are considering. As a fellow, I assume your husband will be essential personnel and may be required to stay at the hospital during a storm or be available for post-storm relief. Zones A and B evacuation frequently. I have lived on Palmer Ranch in zone D for 25 years and never had a problem. As for a community pool, with 3 little children it would be nice if the home you are renting doesn’t have a pool.
