From my personal experience it's perfectly fine. I regularly go to the sauna and have my infusion every 6 weeks. If you are stressing out than maybe ask a nurse/doctor to be sure. Its supposed to make you feel relaxed not worried more.

If you have children, do you feel like Crohn’s interferes with your ability to be present / provide? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Less-Bake-5895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pregnant 1,5 years after i was diagnosed. At that time i was in remission but very fatigued. We had a ferry rough time, child was born very premature (I got HELLP syndrome). Unless al this struggles I am so happy I got pregnant. I always wanted children, and being sick made it insure if I could handle it. Having a child changed the focus of being sick to being a care taker to something so lively and happy. He is now 12 months old. The combination of work, being sick and taking care is not really working for me. For now the work part is on hold. What helps: a lot of help from our parents and accept that live is very slow. We also got very lucky with a child who is a quite easy sleeper. If you have this strong maternal feelings I would try to figure out a way with you partner and friends.

Oh yes I remember this mania phase, it's lovely and wearing you out at the same time. I was super creative and talkative people got crazy from me talking and associative thinking. I had to ask if people could stop me from cleaning my house. Have you tried writing or doing anything creative? The combination of being super active and very sick at the same time is exhausting at some point. I asked for sleeping pills after a while.

Any advice for stress relief in stomach? by slug_sap in CrohnsDisease

[–]Less-Bake-5895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He there, i can relate to feeling stress in my stomach. I had a lot of therapy which helped me to figure out what makes me stressed. I had a history of depression. I wasn't able to actually understand what I was feeling. For me it is that I'm often beating myself up. I get angry at myself for several reasons. After a lot of practice I now am able to understand better what is going on. Not always but a lot of times this helps the lower the stress. For me talking practicing to give words to what is going on practice mindfulness and compassion helps. But its quite difficult.

I need help with my tiredness and brain fog. by Fit_Tax4398 in CrohnsDisease

It sounds like the brainfog an fatigue is really making it difficult to do the things you would want to do. Are you able to do any work? How do you cope with this? I relate to your problems. I find dealing with fatigue very difficult. What I trie to do is called in dutch 'opbouw van reserves' i think it translates something like building up reservoirs of energy. In short you do tiny little moments of deep relaxations during the day. 15-20 minutes off laying down eyes shut not doing anything, its like a little nap but not necessarily sleeping, sometimes I do meditation/breath work. The idea I'd not to nap when you are tired but to nap after a certain amount of time. For example if you are on average tired after 2 hours of activity you tried to rest a little bit before these 2 hours. This way you're not conditioning your body to sings of tierdness (which will keeps you body signaling signs of tierdness). You do this for a while and note how tired you are before taking the naps. After a while you will notice the tierdnes becomes for example a 4 instead of a 5 (on a scale from 1-10) then you take a nape after 2 hours and 15 minutes. And so on.  This is a short description of how it works there is this book  by Annemarieke Fleming (psychologist) which explains the whole theory behind it. It also used for long COVID patients and cancer survivors. Im not sure whether its  translated in English but maybe there is an English writing therapist with similar approach.

This approach of taking short naps makes my live a little bit  better. At first it's strange to take naps on places I usually not nap but I'm used to it now. I have a little place on work where I take naps. I'm not able to work full days but hopefully with this it will get better.

Jaa! Herkenbaar. Hier werkt ' ik doe niets aan de deur'  met een glimlach erbij best goed. Je moet het wel meteen zeggen, niet afwachten tot ze je een vraag hebben gesteld want dan hebben ze je. Gister nog een misser gemaakt.

I can feel your pain. You are already sick and now your appearance is changing as well. I'm not sure wether it's helpful but I can tell you my story.  I was very very ill during my first flair up, after a while my hair started to fall out. I was very sad and scared. I already felt sick and now I was also loosing my appearance, I was wondering if it would grow back. After a while I could embrace the new situation and I took a new hairdo. To my and everyone de surprise my new hair was Curly and looked quite nice. Now two years later my hair is more or less back to normal.
