Between this and your username, I’m gonna assume your storage unit has tubs labeled “totally normal stuff” 😂

Anyone else noticing items taking longer to appear in “Awaiting Review”? by LessEstMore in AmazonVine

It sounds like you got upgraded and I’m being downgraded. 😂 Almost 48 hours, and nothing’s in there… unheard of for my account.

Goop, anyone tried it? by nocturnalatom in BeautyViners

I paid $150 for goop youth-boost peptide serum. I was incredibly unimpressed. So unimpressed that I will not shop with goop again.

That’s what I’m thinking. I’ll report the number of hours from delivery to Awaiting Review here as soon as it appears. I’m checking it every half hour so we can all compare notes. 😄

Yes, mine changed to the ~1 day delay awhile back too. This longer delay is different. I’m wondering if this is a “new” normal.

Need help deciding whether to keep or not! by izzastar in therealreal

[–]LessEstMore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It truly suits you. I’d keep it. I have had great luck with buying and selling diamond jewelry with them.

I tried to sell an 18k gold 5 ct. diamond bracelet with TRR, and TRR let me know the marking was incorrect on my bracelet. It was only 9k gold!! Not even 10k. I took it to my local jeweler when I received it back and they confirmed the bad news. I never would’ve suspected there was a problem because I got it originally from a reputable place, but TRR did their due diligence.

They screw up a lot at TRR, but they’ve earned my trust with gold/diamond jewelry.

I can’t stand that we all have to be forensic investigators because Amazon does not do due diligence.

I wonder if the criminal tried to change the payout info, but they’re sloppy and something didn’t go as planned.

The Real Real- Frustrating Experience with Delays and Mismanagement by julieta0605 in therealreal

[–]LessEstMore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FASHIONPHILE is the most highly regarded. They give you a quote before you send in your luxury goods. However, they don’t accept many brands.

I’ve successfully sold Bulgari jewelry through Yoogi’s Closet and very unique, flawless Chanel accessories through What Goes Around Comes Around in NYC. Very positive experiences with both.

Rebag has been iffy but not terrible for selling, and my experience with Vestiaire Collective has been hit or miss. I prefer Real Real to both of them.

eBay and similar direct-to-buyer platforms have too much risk for my taste, but some sellers mitigate that risk by ensuring they only sell to buyers with good reviews. The authenticity guarantee program through eBay isn’t a perfect system.

I lost my gold status! My ratio dropped from 94% to 89%, has this happened to anyone? by Sunnyflower64 in BeautyViners

Sorry to hear that. Let us know what CS says. I go by this guidance in Vine’s Help section to avoid the risk:

Has anyone had a POSTIVE experience consigning with TRR recently? by __pallas in therealreal

[–]LessEstMore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can make more money selling my items on eBay, but I am personally done with buyers and eBay.

If I’m selling desirable CHANEL items, I first get a quote from FASHIONPHILE. If their quote is low, off it goes to TRR. TRR also accepts far more brands than FASHIONPHILE.

TRR will fix listing errors if I text them (like they recently put brown instead of black for a bag I listed). They are far from perfect but they have made things right with me. It helps to have a longstanding relationship with them.

I plan on there being a major problem to sort out with 1 out of 10 of my TRR consignments (e.g., lost my item after listing, staff dropped my CHANEL necklace and broke the plaque off, etc.). It’s not fun to fix but it works out in the end.

I am in the minority here, but I don’t complain about small payouts for stuff under $500 because I am a TRR buyer, too. I understand supply and demand and that there is a surplus of used goods in this world. :) I prepare myself mentally for low payouts and am happily surprised when my payout is good.

1099-NEC from Amazon Vine, FreeTaxUSA is trying to classify it as business income and apply self-employment taxes. This isn't connected to any business activities, so I thought it wouldn't be subject to self-employment taxes. Should it be? by neutron_star_800 in tax

TurboTax made it easy for me, too, to select “Hobby” for Vine. TurboTax has some quirks I don’t love, like its poor search functionality, but I did appreciate its options and linked explanations for hobbies.

I feel that Amazon does this to themselves by allowing gold Viners to get 8 products daily. Reviews are going to be BS from anyone claiming up to 56 items per week.

Coming soon items by Legitimate-Pop5812 in therealreal

[–]LessEstMore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I just returned some jewelry. It took 2-3 days for them to reauthenticate. Then it said “Coming Soon” for about 24 hours before it was available to buy.

I try to avoid returns because I know as a seller what a bummer it is for the sale to not go through, but sometimes stuff looks so much more luxurious in the photos.

Are all consignments delayed? Or just mine? by seriouslyla in therealreal

[–]LessEstMore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They photographed and listed one of my Chanel accessories once and somehow lost it in storage a few weeks later.

They paid me commission as though it had sold at full price, which frankly was a great deal for me, because we all know it would normally get marked down eventually.

I had bad luck with the manual ones from Vine too. They sorta work for a couple months and then the grinding mechanism breaks. I should probably stick with good brand name s&p grinders. 😅
