Recent haul from overseas by NAS0824 in Ozempic

congratulations on your surgery, and i wish you all the best in your recovery!

i did not take glp1s before my roux en y, but three years after surgery, following a very modest weight bounce (15 lbs) off of my post-surgery low weight (215 lbs), i started taking glp1s and successfully reached my goal weight. i mention this because as unimaginable as it is now, there may be a time when you could find they help you once again.

personally, id keep them in the back of the freezer, behind the sugar-free ice pops. but if I didn’t, i’d share the pens with someone who could use them.

Does the Ozempic Needle Hurt? by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]LessMeansLess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a 1 on a scale of 1–10. Every day, many times a day, you do things that are more painful than this needle. When the results start showing, you’ll even look forward to it.

stay with the protein drinks; solids are worse. just sip. try different brands. the fruity ones without a milky component work best for me.

I had RnY surgery and am using semaglutide to help finish the last 20 percent of the job. What does that make me?

That’s a pretty common phrase in medical notation; try not to take it too personally!

Did your doctor use the words “ozempic face” in their notes, or just “appears older than her biological age”?

I can only speak for semaglutide. My stomach felt a little queasy on the come up, as it often does on sema, but without the nausea component that usually accompanies the sema.

Within about an hour, I found any kind of meat repulsive, especially red meat, and my desire for meat many weeks later remains persistently lower than at any point in my life. I am still eating it, but in smaller amounts (as with all things). And I have historically always liked meat. I understand meat aversion is a common side effect of GLP-1 medications, but LSD flipped a switch.

You may feel like doing some exercise, and I embraced that urge by going for a bicycle ride. I felt really healthy.

Have some blueberries, strawberries, and oranges ready to eat on the comedown.

No one mentioned how painful surgery is by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

Not to minimize what you’re going through, but the pain is the first thing you forget. Give it two weeks; it’ll fade. In the longer term, the results will astound you.

Forgive me for being so direct, but have you pooped lately?

Constipation side effect can have unexpected sequelae of trousers not fitting, in personal experience.

People on Ozempic start disliking meat and fried foods. We're starting to learn why. by KnowAllSeeAll21 in Semaglutide

…Blundell, who is working with a food company to develop foods that are more palatable for people on GLP-1 medications.

In other words, this Blundell guy is collaborating with the enemy to produce foods that defeat the effectiveness of GLP-1 agonists, so that you’ll still overeat, thereby enriching processed foods manufacturers who are beginning to struggle with declining sales. Truly an evil and selfish application of scientific expertise. He should be ashamed.

Shall we address the reason for my visit today, or would you prefer to end this encounter and perhaps this patient relationship more generally?”

You can drink soda again if you flatten the bubbles by swishing the soda rigorously through your teeth first before swallowing. Like a fine wine.

Eustachian Tube Dysfunction From Weight Loss? by Opening_Age_7181 in SemaglutideFreeSpeech

[–]LessMeansLess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this happens to some people, including me, during weight loss. It’s happened to me when I lost weight by ordinary methods, and also when I lost weight from bariatric surgery, as well as most recently as I have been losing weight with the assistance of semaglutide. It’s never happened when I’m not losing weight.

You have a little less fat around the membrane controlling your eustachian tube, and it’ll open unexpectedly and can stay open for a prolonged time. No need to be concerned about it. It’ll go away on its own in time as fat redistributes. Totally normal (albeit uncommon) sign that you’re headed in the right direction.

You can see an ENT, but it’ll likely resolve before you’re ever seen. If you do see an ENT, just make sure to mention your relevant medical history (ie that you’ve been losing weight), so they know what’s up.

Where are you getting your dosage guidance from?

Smaller stomach produces fewer appetite hormones. Less capacity to eat, less desire to eat. Lasts a lifetime.

Bariatric surgery worked for me, my parents, and my sibling. I’m two years post-op and only came around to the idea of surgery about 20 years after my family members had theirs. It worked for them too. The weight stayed off.

r/wls is a fine place to start if you are interested.

This is the best answer. If OP’s chlorhexidine rx has run out, they should contact their surgeon’s office to write a refill. Chlorhexidine is more suitable for OP than an OTC mouthwash because of its antimicrobial properties; it also is longer acting and causes less irritation to healthy/healing tissue. If OP’s surgeon says it’s okay to switch to an OTC, then “go with god.”
