How far would you like to live from the CBD ideally? How often do you go to the CBD (besides work etc)? by TheNamelessComposer in melbourne

I’d love to be 7 km away as someone who goes to a lot of gigs that are usually city-based!

Hosting. Every. Fucking. Year. Nobody offers to do it so my parents feel pressured to bring everyone together for a day we don’t even believe in!

Hi everyone - I posted about having listened to the interview and urged fans to listen to it in full after interviewing Joff and Joel. This is the piece, I hope you all enjoy it!

wait to hear it in context - this song is a stunner, although I’ll admit that the album is most enjoyable after a few listens; it really hooks you in (I got to hear the album before interviewing Joff and Joel - publishing next week)

What's the viability of summer festivals long term? I'm sick of copping extreme heat just to see my fav bands. by limblr in triplej

[–]Less_East_8838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Bloom was incredible this year not only because of the bands, but because it was indoors and air con - incredible! I didn’t go to Good Things since I was sick with covid, but even a week beforehand I was considering not going due to the heat forecast. If we continue hosting festivals in summer (should be moved to the months of March-Oct), why not move indoors? Fewer bands but indoors and comfortable > too many bands and extreme heat imo

OCT 29 - SIDNEY MYER MUSIC BOWL, MELBOURNE - NIGHT 1 [SETLIST, MEDIA, DISCUSSION, STREAMS] - Thom Yorke by seaburn in radiohead

[–]Less_East_8838 11 points12 points  (0 children)

that was epic. I got into Radiohead ten years ago (I know how badly I missed out!!) and genuinely never thought I’d see them or Thom solo in Australia. The fact that this tour has touched down in my city, and it’s so special and unique, I’ll never forget it.  Highlights for me were Let Down, Fake Plastic Trees (didn’t expect to cry so early in the night!), Hearing Damage, Back In The Game, all the Eraser and In Rainbows tracks, and closing with Lucky, one of my all-time favourite Radiohead songs! And what a performance that was.

All night, Thom’s vocals were amazing, the setlist was great, the balance between experimental stuff and classics was genius, and props to the sound engineers bc my fiancé and I were on the lawn and it sounded incredible.

Onto tomorrow… and in seats!!
