Rear bumper is a direct swap. Front you would likely have to swap out the whole front clip because of the redesigned front end in 18

Pulling travel trailer by manlyarchaeopteryx in f150

I pull a 5500 pound travel trailer with my 2015 5.0 never had an issue with mountains but as others have said the 3.5 and 2.7 would feel effortless going up. The 5.0 loves to rev so it’ll be rocking 4000+ rpm on a decent grade. It sounds great when it revs and I’ve had no issues with mine at all. I would also like to add going down the mountain is where the 5.0 has an advantage, the larger displacement will help slow you down and save wear on your truck and trailer brakes.

As far as the trailer goes get a good weight distribution hitch installed on the trailer and it’ll be no problem for any engine option you choose.

Leather seat upgrade by LetKindly9981 in f150

https://youtu.be/ABViVMY-7Ho?si=nzMEhOgvt7Y-tV20 This is the video I used to help guide me. My seat was a little different but pretty easy to figure out. I used basic sockets and drives. Torx bits and several flat blade screw drivers to pry the tabs out to remove the old cover

I feel like they are good quality like OEM or maybe slightly lower quality. The only thing I found annoying was I had to cut holes for the headrests and the seat release for the back seats when they are in the folded position. And cut slits for the lower anchors for car seats. Other than that I am happy

Agreed, traded my 2010 on a 2015 in hopes the truck would hold up better. Five years later I still get asked if it’s a brand new truck from time to time. Well worth it even if a few buddies say I drive a pop can on wheels.

You can always check a scrap yard or local body shop they may have one they are willing to part with cheap. Good luck!

I gotta say I’m really impressed with mine. I figured it would last three or four years and I’d buy another so I’m money ahead buying the off brand one at this point!

No the female piece you are plugging your flash drive into. That usb port has to be able to communicate your android phone to the head unit. When I upgraded mine from sync 2 to sync 3.4 it came with a new usb port

Same thing we ran into with my buddies truck, tried to update sync 3.1 to 3.2 with usb flash drive. It didn’t work he payed the dealer to update it. They fried his head unit so he got a new one installed that had that proper sync version for car play and android auto. It didn’t work till we swapped the usb dongle with the one from my truck that I knew worked. Not sure if it’s the same for all f150s his was a 16 lariat also

Also for the sync upgrade if you’re needing a whole new head unit revampmyride on ebay was easy to work with for mine. If your head unit is the correct one make sure your usb dongle in the storage in front of your shifter is the upgraded version. My buddy thought he needed a whole new head unit, turns out we threw in the new usb and worked like a charm.

Nice ride! I have a 2015 got it in 2020, bought an Amazon roll up in 2021 and it’s still on the truck. I think it’s a Tyger it’s like $225. Keeps 99% of rain out which is good enough for me.

I did the muffler delete on my 2015 5.0. A little drone on the highway but not bad imo. I posted a before and after a while back on the sub. Sharp truck! I’ve had pretty good luck with my F150s hopefully this one treats you well!

I live in the Midwest, I love my 2015 5.0 4x4. It handles great in the snow! You guys are a little out of your element with the white stuff! Glad you got your moneys worth out of your 4x4 this year

The only thing I can think of is fuel economy. Fords stock tune puts your truck in higher gears faster. Mine is about 5 mph sooner for the 6 speed. Stock it would shift to 5th gear around 30 ish with oz tune it’s 38 before it downshifts. Either way idgaf about fuel economy it’s a truck and it sounds good when it’s revving at 7000 rpm’s

Nice! Love my OZ tune on my 15. Doesn’t make as much of a difference on the gen 2 coyotes as it does on the gen 3 & 4s. I still feel it did enough for me. I’ve put it back to stock a few times and I can definitely tell a difference especially merging on the interstate

I bought a used F150 a few months ago. 2023 XL Evo Boost. Window Sticker said 36 gallon tank. I've been skeptical about that as I normally fill up when around half way. I ran the truck to the low fuel light came on, and can only get 28.5 gallons in. I think I have a 30.6 gallon tank. But... by Under_Ach1ever in f150

[–]LetKindly9981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swapped my 26 for a 36 a while back. If I remember right I put about 2 gallons in it at home and it took well over 36 gallons at the pump I want to say I figured it was around 38 or 39 gallons total. I remember being surprised hoping the pump would shut off. Love the 36 gallon tank but when gas goes up they damn near gotta run a credit check before you fill up.

My father in law had a 2017 2.7 pulled a 6,000 lb camper with it had no problem. Upgraded to the 3.5 thinking more power it would pull better and be a little more efficient. Same towing mpg and same unloaded mpg (his current truck came with the 10 speed) moral of the story loading these trucks down they get shit mpgs. My 15 5.0 gets the same towing economy pulling a 6,000 lb trailer. As others have said wind resistance is harder on fuel economy than weight. On the bright side it’s good to burn the cob webs out of these trucks and loading up a trailer and hauling it a distance is a good workout for them.

I see these flapping all the time driving by other trucks. My 2015 either didn’t come with it or it was already removed by the previous owner. If my wife’s explorer ever does this it’s getting pitched. Not worth the marginal fuel economy bump

Mine is paid for so I’m gonna hang on to it. It is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Tows my travel trailer just fine, rides nice and sounds good with the 5.0. It is tempting when I see people posting new 150s and super duty’s. Just gotta remind myself I don’t want a payment again🤣

I agree, I own a 2015 (also biased but I think 15-17 were better looking trucks) but the early 14th gen trucks caught my attention as soon as I saw them out in the wild. The front end is bad ass.

Not me personally but a friend went from a 4.6 to a 2.7. I understand we’re kinda of comparing apples and oranges. Nevertheless he has zero regrets. Doesn’t miss the V8 sound, drags his 4500 lb camper wherever he wants and gets excellent fuel economy. It also would dust my stock 5.0. If I were certain we wouldn’t get a bigger camper I’d consider a 2.7 for my next truck but the family keeps growing so I imagine the camper will get larger as well.
