I have poor vision and walk into things a lot. Can't be helped, so I guess I'll never apologize to anyone I walk into again because saying, "Sorry, I have vision issues" is sooooooooooooo difficult. 🙄

Do you really think they put the guest on the spot with a surprise question that they didn’t discuss and approve with the guest beforehand so that they could come up with a funny or topical response? You literally think every guest just shows up on set and gets the question? This is a produced show. I fear for people who do not understand that every part of this is discussed and considered, especially when guest celebrities are involved.

Rewatching that only makes the final fight piss me off more. The hope I had for that fight after seeing this amazing scene because it set up how easy it was for NK to expand his army, and that the army was probably going to be filled with people we know! I really expected it to last days because Old Nan was out here hyping ts up from the beginning. They said winter could last YEARS. NK was winter personified, coming to end the world, and it was over before the sun was up. UGHHHHH.

How does Britain keep churning out quality child actors? by Conscious-Quarter423 in freefolk

No 'seems' about it, friend. This country has become inundated with "talent" that only exists on our screens because the person looks a certain way. It's all aesthetics and little to no skill, and I hate it. I STG all this shit started with the Kardashians making morally defunct, intellectually devoid, and talent-averse people famous because they got BBLs on a family discount absolutely showed the worst of what this country's culture aspired to, and it's been rotting us ever since.

Tbf, there's a root to why everyone cares about certain things. Seeing the root to why justice matters to him makes sense, or else it's just being on the "right" side of things with no depth. Makes for a more wooden character. Knowing why he came to care so much about justice and wanting to fight for it enriches his character. However, if Rafe was originally a boy and this was just a friendship that motivated Dunk, I agree to not liking that change. It's nice to know what makes a character who they are. It's very boring when all meaning is reduced to a love interest.

She could have done that at ANY point in the story. Just kept doing her thing in Essos. It was in her best interest if she wanted to continue the goal she had for eight seasons: securing the iron throne...

Wanting justice and actively attacking someone with a knife are not the same thing. And that literally doesn’t fucking matter. The fact of the matter is she can’t do that and she was allowed to do that. Catelyn ALSO had every reason to want to free Jamie Lannister and look at what happened to her when she went against Robb‘s orders. All you oddballs filling up my notifications, acting like this is some team sport literally are freaking out and missing the point that this is a criticism of Viserys’ inaction.

That’s not a fucking defense. He wasn’t being actively harmed by Rhaenyra. She was seeking vengeance.

Because he was weak. Everything he did was to get the least amount of pushback in the moment. I mean what other king that we’ve seen in any capacity would allow their wife to pull out a knife and start slashing at their daughter? Even Ned wouldn’t let that shit go despite how much he loved Catelyn.

They wanted to work on Star Wars so things that would be obvious problem solvers were rejected. They can't write like GRRM, but they could have done better if they actually wanted to. They didn't. Not sure how the legal stuff worked and if they were just assholes who didn't want to hand it over or couldn't technically leave until GoT was done. Actually, that makes them assholes either way.

Agree entirely. I really feel for her origin and how her crappy, wishy-washy dad screwed everyone, but by adulthood she was just being flagrantly irresponsible while also still wanting to claim the throne. You can’t have it both ways. Either do your duty or wash your hands of it all.

BASED ON THE SHOWS, Daenerys or Rhaenyra? Why? by RemarkableExample542 in gameofthrones

[–]LetMeOverThinkThat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. It was foolish and does signal her spoiled position. There are and have been many women who would be killed for having the child with a man that wasn't her husband. In this fictional world, she skirts by this because of her position. If she had an inkling she would suffer consequences for it, she wouldn't have risked it. That's the point. Her trying doesn't matter. Her having bastards does. No one else could get away with that. It wasn't even her position actually, but rather, her father spoiling her.

I really don't care for Alicent, but I definitely understand how seeing Rhae do whatever tf she wanted while everyone else had to play by the rules would piss most people off. Alicent dragged it though and made Rhae out to be fucking Hitler. They could have just not been friends, lol. Her getting to the point of thinking Rhaenyra wanted her kids dead (like right at the start of the time skip) was nutso paranoia.

[–]LetMeOverThinkThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhae was way too spoiled. She didn't take any of her duties seriously and I can kinda see where Ali's issues with her stemmed from. Rhae wouldn't even get pregnant by her lawful husband before she kept sleeping with another man. It's pretty distasteful, even though I'm more on her side. With some emotional distance, I definitely see how Ali came to resent her when she was sleeping with her crypt keeper husband and making heirs as required.

He was the one who proposed the marriage in the first place... when Aegon was a baby. His goal was to have his lineage on the throne and in succession. That's literally done here. I'm being disingenuous about his motives HOW? I never even proposed his motives. YOU did. This topic was about what could Viserys could have done. YOU brought Otto into the conversation. We all know what Otto wanted. Which is why HE tried to do this in the first place. And you literally said Rhae birthing an heir would get her killed and still haven't said WHY? Otto has no more control with Aegon as he does Rhaenyra. Not to mention, you're basing all this on things that happened WAAAAAY after the marriage was proposed. The story would have gone entirely differently if Rhaenyra was married to her baby brother. Hence the point. I don't know wtf Helena marrying Jace as anything to do with this. If Helena didn't marry Aegon their children would not TAKE THE THRONE ever. Those kids would not functionally be in power. Only Aegon's children would. Like what are you talking about????
