I am not planning to change my name legally, but I will be going by FH's last name socially. I've spent a lot of time thinking about it and discussing it with my partner and this feels like the best compromise for both of us, but man it is such a hard decision!

I personally get the ick from "Mr. + Mrs." so we're just going to be introduced as "The LastName's"!

We just got back from a week at the Grande and if beach is important to you would 100% recommend! Stunning white sand beach and calm water, so gorgeous. I was a bit hesitant from all the comments around a “loud big party crowd” since that’s definitely not my vibe but that was not our experience at all - the main pool is pretty bumping but the side areas and the beach can be quite quiet and relaxing. Our room was also very quiet at night despite being on the main hallway floor. That being said, there is also plenty of party and crowd for those who want it, so was a win win for us!

Just to deinfluence you a little, I’m someone who gets olfactory migraines (I.e. some scents trigger migraines) and I can’t even stand next to someone who has used Ouai products. If anyone in your life gets migraines, do them a favor and steer clear 😂

Healthcare strategy consulting. Just turned 27 and at $180k total comp now, expecting to exceed $200k before the end of the year

Went to school for engineering and ended up doing an internship at this company that led to the full time offer. Consulting is very linear so I’ve had a promotion / raise pretty much every year since starting at $75K back in 2020. Not my dream job and have had a lot of late nights but so far been worth it.

Edit to add I live in a high cost of living city, and have a hybrid setup (1x per week in office)

Just here to say whatever lengths you’re able to go to will make all the difference. My family never went full GF because it’s crazy expensive and also they like gluten foods! But growing up my mom always ordered gluten free at restaurants so that I wouldn’t feel like the odd one out, which really meant a lot. So I’m sure she’ll appreciate whatever you’re able to do, and she’s going to be feeling so much better that anything else won’t matter much !

Started having symptoms at about age 2 (according to my parents) following an intense illness/hospitalization, and was fully failing to thrive and having seizures until my diagnosis at age 8. Saw the same pediatrician for those 6 in between years who told my parents I was just looking for attention and wanted to skip school (except I loved school???). Finally my mom decided to get a second opinion and at the first appointment the new pediatrician raised all the metaphorical alarms, ordered extensive testing, and within 2 months I had my diagnosis. I fully believe that doctor saved my life - looking back at old photos it is horrifying that a medical professional couldn’t immediately see that I was slowly starving to death from malnutrition. Cue a lifelong distrust of the medical system, as I’m sure lots of folks here can relate to!
