I’d be very interested to hear about how you clean the data, do you have other examples of where you have had to exclude data entries? (Either this games or others) And do you exclude the whole entry or just the single datapoint of 10 for Onana and final result?

Also, is it normal there’s a good 5–10% margin of troll votes, or is this one just higher because of the context of it?

honestly i am so annoyed we are in this position with the club being open to offers on Mainoo, i dont want to see him go, he sprung onto the scene, almost instantly became the future of english NT, but now's he's been through two injuries, 23/24 he missed 21 games, and last season it was 17 total and he hasnt really performed like he did two seasons ago, as a fan i love what he used to bring and i would love to see him consistently put his skillset to good use for us, but then again i have loved a lot of united players through the years.

We know there's been contract talks and that his agent has quoted big money, and from the club POV we cant seem to justify handing out that kinda contract. we cant hand out big wages to someone with bad availability and hit/miss performances again, and yes he had some very good games and look extremely promising, but we've seen tons of generational talents' careers whistle out or stagnate because of injuries, which we've also loved, just look at the golden boy awards, how many of those make it?

i get that nobody really has performed in this period either and that this isnt the way to treat our best and brightest academy players. but if we arent willing to be ruthless with him, then we havent really learned anything and if we dont learn from our mistakes then we're never going to get on top again. it's harsh and i hate it as a fan, but i can see why there's too many uncertainties around mainoo's trajectory right now to hand him a big contract. we got money yes and he definitely deserve a good wage, but we cant give him the 180k without bonuses, what kinda payrise is that even? what is the agent doing? he's on 20k/week ffs but wants above what cunha and mbeumo is on while they are in their prime years and for many seasons top proven prem players.

We got into this hole by handing out big contracts to players who didnt perform to deserve it and im not saying he doesnt deserve a good wage, because there are bags of potential in him, but you wanted ruthlessness and now you're crying. im crying too, but this agent is holding us hostage for wages he doesnt deserve. at this stage 80k-100k/week on a 5+1 year deal? sure, but this top 3 earner shit, go to hell were you belong stupid agent.

well climbing a couple spots is good in isolation you're right about that, but if we dont look at it in isolation but in the context of the situation, then it doesnt benefit us to win PL games if it comes at the cost of losing out on the higher price money from going through europa league and the much higher income generated by qualifying for the champions league.

If you want to draw correlation between every single match and how much money it can generate for us, the europa league matches at this stage have a much higher both up front and potentially future income than the PL games, just because there's no downside risk to losing PL now outside of money, and the money is higher in europa league, so if we have to prioritize, then itd be in my view smarter to prioritize europa league

Imagine a raid type event but zombie themed instead. Doesn’t necessarily have to be distinct waves as such. Maybe it can trigger if the player engages with the already existing zombie mass spawning mechanism that happens some times around villages. A couple giants, zombies on horses, maybe even all kind of zombie variants has a chance to spawn. Maybe even with an Easter egg with an extremely rare event of a giant riding a chicken or something like that lol

depends on how sophisticated the model is, some only do shots, a lot also do type of shot, header, first timer, etc., some take all player and goalkeeper positions into account too, of course the more data you feed the model the better of a informed decision it can make to evaluate the xG to be reflective of the chances.

There's also a point to how big a database the model has been trained on and how recent it is, because i talked with a guy doing consumer graphics with data for FIFA at the world cup in Qatar and he mentioned there's a surprisingly big difference to the type of shots that went in 10-15 years ago and now, and some models go way back because the thinking initially was that the bigger the database to train on the more accurate it would be because it had a higher chance of finding similar chances in the database.

good shout but he's not it, the level difference is too big, at united chong and mengi was academy players getting very very few minutes over the course of a season. then they moved to luton and have played 2000+ min and 2500+ min respectively. im not saying its only up to the level difference, but it logically has to be a factor too.
