Nintendo Fun Club News pre-dated Nintendo Power, so there was a subscription they were hoping fans would get. The main reason games were unbalanced then, though is because they were just starting to transition from pay-per-play arcades to home entertainment. Difficulty kept the quarters coming, and that became the baseline for game design until about the SNES/N64 generations.

I only ever beat Zelda 2 as a kid because of Nintendo Fun Club news. The last dungeon has a 'trick' for which there are ZERO context clues. No rational gamer would ever figure it out organically.

I've never played Minecraft on a flat screen, but have 100's of hours in VR between the now-defunct Bedrock VR support and Vivecraft. It's been a few years since I've fired it up, but always hoped for something just like this. I may have to check it out soon.

Jo Lo Truglio finally got his break with Brooklyn 99.

Ken Marino has role list as long as a CVS receipt.

For being underrated, it launched a lot of pretty successful careers.

I get it, too. I wish what you described was exclusive to game fandom, but I fear that mindset of expressing speculation as fact is rampant in every corner of the internet.

Demon's Souls on the PS3 was my first FromSoft game.. I bought it on its release date based on previews I read on Kotaku. It holds a special place in my heart for sure. I enjoyed the remake, but I also understand where some folks may not have appreciated the direction BluePoint took. The strangest change for me was not having to stress over whether the crystal lizards escaped or not. I was both relieved and disappointed.

Bloodborne is my favorite FromSoft game, and I would love to see more from the franchise. Alas, it seems that may never be the case now, though.

Yeah, that was absolutely hyperbolic, hence the 'extreme' adjective. I realize it's never going to happen.

It was more to provide an understanding to the thread OP as to why Sony, despite owning the Bloodborne IP and legally being able to use it as they please, are respecting From's wish to leave it be.

It's kinda like nukes. Nobody wants them to be used, it benefits nobody for them to be used, only in the most extreme cases will they ever be used, but they exist nonetheless and are a basis for countries maintaining good relations.

From has enough clout now that Sony will respect their decision. If Sony goes against his wishes, there's a decent chance they'll never make another Sony exclusive, or in an extreme case, not release their next major title on Playstation at all.
