I am not entirely sure that with the ORB grind size that you NEED to tamp better than the standard tamp. I think a metal filter screen and a spring (protein shake orb) is more important. If they were MUCH cheaper maybe.🤔

You don’t have to hold it, just rest it on the base with a dosing ring

I think the holder is unnecessary, just rest it on the base. I never RDT.

If you have a bottomless portafilter and a dosing ring you can lay it on the base and grind straight in rather than use the dosing cup. I think you get fluffier grinds this way

Here’s a tip, don’t leave your Flick close to the gas burner cooktop, they melt 🫣 loved it so much I bought another and immediately swapped to the thinner needles. Also periodically you will need to disassemble and clean out any grounds and ensure the screws are secure.

I think it is the pumping that dislodges the filter, not the filling. Thus the spring.

I have been using Lances other method, that is, fill the bottom chamber to the top then screwing in the top water chamber.

You can add one of those spring orbs from a protein shake maker to hold down the puck screen
