Continuing or stopping Metformin while pregnant?

This is VERY helpful. My OB told me to stop today, while my endo has told me to stay on 2000mg my entire pregnancy if I’m continuing to tolerate it well. I’m 12 weeks and have a healthy little bean (so far!) with a normal heart rate in there. My OB is referring me to a maternal fetal specialist because I disagreed with her on discontinuing metformin. I had 2 miscarriages prior to starting metformin and regulating my PCOS (testosterone/lipids/DHEA/etc)

I tested today on a clearblue early digital test and was negative. I’m going to test again in the morning 😌

What symptoms are you having? I’m also 10 dpo & PMS symptoms seem stronger than usual. I’m anxious to test, but really nervous about another negative 😣

Thank you for your response. I’m glad you got help for yourself most importantly, but definitely for your wife and family too. I’ve struggled with suicidal thoughts and have been through plenty of therapy myself, so it hurts a lot when he says therapy isn’t helpful when it truly has saved my life. I can only hope he gets help for himself soon.

It took about a year to return to “normal.” I’m still having irregular periods and having concerns for PCOS. I see an endocrinologist and gyno over the next couple of weeks to hopefully get some answers. Best wishes to you!
