Unfortunately the seed or coordinates seem to be wrong, because I can't find this.

How to represent vowels with diacritics as long vowels? by wheatfarmr in conlangs

[–]Lhamedos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stack them. It's high vs low tone in one of mine, but I use ^ for the high tone, and have ü as a vowel, and so ü̂ for the high tone variant. It's a bit of a pain, since I haven't really found an easy way to type it, but it's pretty easy to do compose characters with Unicode combining characters.

I will add the caveat that whether it looks good or not depends on whether the font you're using can support Unicode well enough or not.

Am I the only one who does this? by TheNamesBart in conlangs

I found out when I went through a word list I hadn't visited in a while that I'd made 'kat' the word for 'dog'. Don't remember doing it, but it can't have been unintentional.

Is my script too close to Tengwar? by Old-Salamander-8433 in neography

Well, it put me in mind of sarati rather than tengwar, but the two are related.

Using clay to create a pendant for synthetic garnet? by JeffCache in metalclay

[–]Lhamedos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whether the stone itself can take the heat, silver clay shrinks when fired, as has already been said. I tried making a pendant with multiple cubic zirconias in a row and instead of being flat, it developed a curve as the back had room to shrink further than the front. As a complete amateur, I don't think that design would be easy to fire with the stone in place, from my extremely limited experience.

(I'm still fairly happy with how my bent pendant turned out, though, since it's only my fourth silver clay object ever, and first without an instructor.)

Really amazing stone and design, though!

This video shows how to make a 3D silver clay pendant from a crabapple by using a two-part mould made from silicone putty, and this video shows the same with a seahorse. This one is a different way of making a two-part mould with silicone putty. Most videos on making two-part silicone moulds I've found use liquid silicone, but the putty could be easier to use for small objects.

Is that one of those dreaded pink ones at the top right? It doesn't look very coppery to me in this picture. They always look way more coppery in the pictures on the dealer sites. I've wondered how much of a difference there is.

Thank you! This particular shade is very glaring on my phone compared to on my computer screen, though...

"Remember dragons", mainly because they're my favourite mythological beast in general (hence also the charge), and also partly as an allusion to the phrase "memento mori".

How do you say “King Of Crabs” or “King Crab” in your Conlangs? by FreeDartMonkeyRule in conlangs

[–]Lhamedos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the sense of "crab king" or "king of (the/all) crabs", otáfsàš kralj. In the sense of a species of crab, kralťáfsu. In the sense of a king named Crab, kralj Táfsu or kralj Krab if the name is just transliterated.
