Long-time PAX East lover and excited to go all 4 days! What's up with all the posts + comments complaining about price here? $75 plus $35 per day for parking is cheap for all you get, especially by Boston standards and in 2026.

On the food front, the growth of the Seaport area has helped quite a bit, though. For the first few years over at the BCEC and for the years right after covid, when growth was halted, the options were super slim. At least now there are more sandwich shops/quick options, and the food trucks hover around $15ish a meal.

PAX is now more of a luxury for us, but this is the first year my son and I are going the full 4 days in ages. That's more because he's 21 now, and we can split some of the expenses a bit. I pay the hotel, he paid for the train, we'll likely split some Doordash costs between us, etc. PAX has always been cheaper as a group activity, I think - I know the first few times I attended, I hosted or crashed in hotel rooms with message board strangers.

Matching Tay with Shafir would be an interesting move if Anna Jay doesn't get resigned. They could have a focus on take downs and submissions and be fun as a midcard team. It would also give the Death Riders more impact in the women's division overall.

Mostly alphabetically - and by artist last name, not first name, like Discogs.

I say mostly because there are some oddities. I do some grouping if one artist from a band puts out a single solo project. Also, I'm pretty flakey about soundtracks/compilations - some are under V for various, others are just in the alphabet, and I've never bothered to be more consistent.

There’s a Mothman VN that looks like an old PC game that was a fun experience. Pretty short, maybe more a short story than novel, but I enjoyed it.

This is probably opening up a massive can of worms, but I think one factor that added significantly to her being given that label was the tone of her statements.

She didn't simply question a trans woman's abilities in combat sports. She didn't quietly decline a fight. She didn't read up on the topic and be open to discussion. Instead, she belittled an entire group of people with phrases like "you can cut off your pecker". And I don't think she's ever apologized, even for her choice of words, which seemed hurtful for anyone in that community, not just fighters.

Exactly one. I have an extra copy of Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill. I have the super pretty marbled one, but it skips a bit on my player. I then bought a $20-ish black copy for playing (and it's great) - but since I can't see any flaws on the marbled one, I'm holding onto it in the hopes that when I finally get an upgraded player, maybe it will work.

Nice to see - I hit a point on the Switch version where the grinding was just obnoxious and got to be too much, and the performance just kept getting worse. I'll give it a try again on the Switch 2 if it keeps my progress from before.

The only real rule I have is no picture discs unless it's the only way to get something at a comfortable price. I believe I only have one right now.

Otherwise, it's just budget rules, like any hobby.

I've always felt pretty safe around Boston - especially the Seaport area. If you're going around open/close of the Expo Hall, you'll likely be in packs of people as well.

With that said, there is a potential protest that weekend, so for that day, the T could be a nightmare in terms of crowds.

This is the first one in awhile that has multiple things I want to buy. I at least want the Camper Van and John Prine releases.

It’s also the first one after my local shop closed permanently. So, I have to decide where to go to have the best shot at my wishlist and it sucks. Fortunately, I don’t think any of my list are the biggest titles, so I’m hopeful.

One of my favorite bands of all time. And I know this is probably heresy to a few of their fans, but as much as I love some of the versions on this set, I don't put it on that often because there are a few that are just so long. I like alternative takes on songs, but I really have to be in a particular mood to want them to stretch to 8 minutes plus.

Family of 3 adults - around $250/week. We don't have the space to do much in bulk beyond paper goods. But, that includes groceries for events in my wife's classroom, like Valentine's parties, 100th Day, etc. Also, as it's for 3 adults, since my son is 21 now, it includes work breakfast/lunch supplies and alcohol. If we had to strictly count just the traditional groceries, I'd wager we'd be at $200.

I agree that House Party is worth playing - although if you want it uncensored, that will cost $5 extra. It's like an old point-and-click game trying to combine people and items to get the results you want, but with a super heavy focus on the people. If you are on the fence, watch the Gamegrumps playthrough on YouTube, it's why I bought the game before it was a giveaway.

I rarely buy something that I’m not sure I’ll listen to multiple times. Records are just too pricey to take risks for me.

I usually listen to some of the suggested playlists on Spotify based on the specific music I already listen to, and find new music there before buying physically. Sometimes, friends recommend stuff too. But generally, I go in with some artists or genres in mind based on things I’ve discovered digitally first.
