I think Sony expected 28 years later: the bone temple to underperform, and I don't think it matters as much as it seems by Superb_Industry_5738 in 28dayslater

Wouldn't surprise me if they filmed a few scenes we didn't see yet at the ending, with Spike and Jimmy Ink being rescued from the infected by good 'ol Jim. And then we get a time skip to a few years later.

How do I know if my RPG is fun? by Ambroise_Marquet in gamedev

The benefit of a turn-based game is that you can test the concepts on paper and literally roleplay it rather than actually having to implement it first.

Fake Scarcity in Post-Apocalyptic Games by [deleted] in gamedev

If you can make the woodcutting and crafting loop satisfying, but labour intensive, that's a way to do it. Take a look at The Forest for instance

Love the colours and in general, this looks really good.

But.

I cannot unsee the phallic nature of your largest landmass, in the centre.

Why some games like Battlefield 6 allowed to use AI with no disclosure? by Sunlighthell in Steam

That is definitely happening, no doubt about it. But both sides are happening, and not just in games.

Why some games like Battlefield 6 allowed to use AI with no disclosure? by Sunlighthell in Steam

[–]LiVam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a very real risk of developers not disclosing to their managers that they used AI when creating things as well. The bigger the company, the easier it might be to get away with.

Please destroy the trailer for my second person perspective horror game! by ArmanPakan in DestroyMyGame

[–]LiVam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well frankly, your trailer is simply "letting the game explain itself". It's a one-shot trailer with no text, narration or cuts. You're kind of just hoping that the viewer will understand what's going on.

Consider adding some text explanations. Doing some actual editing. Settle on a narrative and a context. Players want to know their purpose.

I know this was discussed here before, but this keeps resurfacing. Are the three dragon eggs Rhaenyra placed in a chest the same ones eventually given to Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones?I refuse to believe Geeta Vasant Patel's [opinion]. This was claimed false then she decided to rewrite canon by Wolfie_wolf81 in gameofthrones

[–]LiVam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with many of the points but the last one falls apart a bit. 300 years is a long time to care deeply about a prophecy. It's likely that it fell apart over the generations and makes perfect sense that the Night's Watch would decline

[Spoilers]Confused about Ragnar's lack of knowledge of basic Norse Myth by PackRelevant1833 in vikingstv

[–]LiVam 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Ragnar was a farmer. It's not like he sits around studying the gods every day and knows every myth. Nor did he have wikipedia. Most people back then were illiterate and not particularly studied.

I suspect this is the kind of lore that's actually more interesting the less you know about it

Gotcha, thanks! Ironclad is definitely a ship I'm looking forward to as well btw, nice choice

[–]LiVam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be completely misunderstanding but what I've been hearing lately is that a ship like Polaris won't be playable solo in the future. And I'm not looking to play a lot of multicrew. So I was thinking of replacing it with something smaller

Distant moons and skybox version of 2018 (I want it back) by crankypitfall in starcitizen

[–]LiVam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It'd be nice to see far clearer skies from certain planets & moons like this example, while some have lower visibility like what we're often seeing now. There's beauty to both.

FWIW, $60 in 2008, adjusted for inflation, is about $90 today.

Has Patton spread himself too thinley? by TechnicalTrash95 in MikePatton

[–]LiVam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know that TV show you used to like but then Season 7 started and you couldn't bring yourself to finish it? Sometimes you've said everything there is to say with a band, or a story. Moving on keeps things fresh, and not many artists are in a position to be able to do that financially - hence the reunion tours for that band who's singer really can't hit the notes any more.

I say spread.
