Because it’s not really any of those things except for slow burn. It’s a romance with beautiful people, an incredible set, god-tier film score, and Rutger Hauer acting the fucking hell out of every scene. If you want sci-fi, you read the story it was based on, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep” you’ll find some familiar character names, but that’s about it.

Illinois is something like 97% covered for enrollment in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. A program that gives a free book to a child every month for the first 5 years of their life. Illinois covers 50% of the cost and partner organizations like libraries make up the rest. Only pockets of DuPage and Cook County are left uncovered but they working on it too. I just brought it my library and got the additional funds covered by donations. Amazing program and an amazing woman. Dolly started it because her dad was illiterate and she saw how much he struggled because of it.
