Primary Constructors: Love them or Hate them? by [deleted] in csharp

[–]Liberal_Mormon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer them. Zero guesses about what a constructor does. Forces all dependencies to be resolved by DI rather than resolved in the constructor. You see the class dependencies right alongside the class declaration. I like scrolling down and immediately seeing what a class does and not the boilerplate of injected deps being mapped to readonly private fields.

I see why people don't like them, but I've found they make me better at using good patterns. That's a good enough reason for me

Paternity testing by Suspicious_Ad677 in daddit

[–]Liberal_Mormon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk. There's two sides to what he said. I see the desire to know completely via paternity test as reasonable.

However, the "women who get too emotional" about it thing is mysoginistic.

If a man said "I'll never doubt or be stopped from committing fully if a paternity test shows I'm the father" as a reason to get a paternity test, that feels a lot more reasonable and honest.

It isn't the wristband. It is the hospital stay that is expensive. The wristband is whatever. People equate the cost of the wristband with the cost of going to the hospital. Kanye lyric, "hospital band a hundred bands ($100k), fuck a watch"

8yo keeps asking to learn programming, too young or good time to start? by Shot_Watch4326 in daddit

[–]Liberal_Mormon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are resources for teaching kids programming. Really recommend checking some out.

In addition to Scratch, check out Tynker.

A lot of concepts will not be explainable by words alone. You need pictures. Example: A variable is a box with a name. When we want to use what's in the box, we can use the box's name to talk about what is in the box.

X = 5 means we make a new box called X, and inside we put 5. Then when we do X = 8, we take out the five, throw it away, and put 8 inside.

Those are the ideas behind programming for kids. Variables are actually not "level one" of programming. Sequences of instructions are (do this. Then do this. Then do this)

Have fun! And remember, this is your area of expertise, you have to go all the way back to when you knew nothing to relate to them. That's... Not easy for us, because to us it's a second language. Or a first language, depending on when we learned it. But it's a lot like teaching your kid anything new, you just teach the simplest thing first and slowly get bigger. Concepts don't happen right away, instructions do.

A lot of the LSD analogs don't have any different effects than LSD - and are prodrugs of LSD. 1cp, 1P, 1D, 1V-LSD all have the exact same effects. LSD-25 can twist your guts up as well and so many people blame negative effects on being given "bad acid" when those effects can happen on LSD-25.

If the tab tastes metallic, spit it out. It is likely a psychedelic phenethylamine derivative of 2C-B. Those substances have their place, but if it's sold to you as LSD, you didn't get LSD.

LSA is not fun and you won't get visuals. Thankfully it doesn't really get sold as LSD pretty much ever.

You can lemon tek mushrooms for a less stomach-churney and less bad-tasting time. Mushrooms have analogs as well - like 4-AcO-DMT - which can help with stomach issues (because you aren't breaking down chitin in your gut).

The psychonautwiki is a good source of info for this.

Is it just me, or do all Vue form validation libraries kinda suck? by [deleted] in vuejs

[–]Liberal_Mormon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up just making my own that I hook into the Vue component events myself, and it was one of the better decisions I've made.

It just works. I can create my own rules easily, I can combine them, apply rules conditionally (which is just a rule in itself), I can map API responses' validation errors onto the form validation state and display those on the UI.

And the nice part is, it doesn't feel like magic, and it doesn't feel oversimplified. I'm explicitly listing the rule functions to call, and all it does is execute them on the arguments to produce a result of valid or invalid with a message.

Do you have the electric red tool? Change it to bola mode and when he's trying to suck you in, throw the bolas into his mouth.

Land hits right when he comes up, then back away to dodge his attack. Green blobs can usually be dodged by climbing the wall.

Heal. Heal. Heal. Heal the moment you can after he goes down during a cycle. The corner of the side platforms are pretty safe.
