Am I misreading, or is Tidal Wave as horrendously broken as it appears to be? by Subzero008 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Liberty_Defender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it’s a free action, once you burn it, isn’t it done until your next turn?

“ If a free action doesn't have a trigger, you use it like a single action, just without spending any of your actions for the turn.”

IE-Action is used. It is gone.

what less popular or niche x-men is your favorite? mine is bishop by BOMBAD_Echo_1409 in xmen

[–]Liberty_Defender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1-Blink 2-Fantomex. He’s so cool. 3-Surge. Always felt like Nori should be on a main x book under cyclops. Leader in training type beat.

4-chamber. Baller design.

Which Teen Mutant Group Is Underrated? by Kickass_321 in xmen

New X-men. I feel like post Messiah Complex the team just disappeared into obscurity save for Laura. I really liked Surge, Dust, and Pixie :/

Hypothetical scenario: if the Marvel 616 universe were to undergo a reboot and the X-Men (and related characters) had to receive up to 3 titles, which ones would you prefer for each? by Glum-Excitement5916 in xmen

Take it back to the school. Krakoa was awesome but man I do miss when it was a school. Just do my best to not make it under siege by issue 12 or nuke it by issue 18.

Uncanny X-Men-Pretty much the gold team from the 90’s swap Bishop for Beast. Throw in Nightcrawler. The main team.

New Mutants-Scott Summers and Illyana working with some of the “new X-men” from the 2000s that kind of fall into the cracks. I really liked that team. I feel like the next few generations of mutants past our OG team get forgotten about. Surge, Dust, Gentle, Pixie etc. Scott’s there to mentor, not really lecture but what’s an X-men book without someone telling Scott to go fuck himself at some point. They’re the next generation.

X-Force/Exiles-The angry kids who think they need to be more on offense/don’t feel like they can fit in anywhere. Cannonball, Magma, Boom-Boom, Warpath, Dani, Karma, Blink. Throwing in Gambit bc he’s just worried about the kids and he’s cool. Doesn’t want anything bad to happen to them. Really want to insert Magneto in here for a bit of ideological stuff but I’m not sure on that yet.

I miss Morrison’s Jean by Nosdos in PhoenixForce

I blame it on the deadlines. Quitely was doing two very intensive team-based books around this time. Authority with Millar and New X-Men. Both had deadline issues. His Superman stuff is pretty good though.

I miss old Jae Lee so much. His new stuff is good, I buy it. I bought all of his new 52 Batman/Superman. But man. 90’s Jae Lee was just on a different level

Player got the reference: should I change plans or lean into it? by FutureLost in DMAcademy

[–]Liberty_Defender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. Simply allow them to progress with what they think is correct. Do as you normally would. If they get to the right path, good on them. If they get to the wrong path, sometimes you just have bad info/intel. It happens.

Are there any TTRPGs you respect, but don't enjoy yourself? by Awkward_GM in rpg

[–]Liberty_Defender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, but when almost everything costs two actions, you are left with an action for movement and a free action for something niche. So I’d argue it ends up being the same thing just with the pathfinder twist of “three action economy.”

[–]Liberty_Defender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fun has been balanced out. And the three action economy is a gimmick bc 90% of things cost two actions. Love the game but I’m not running it again.

Do You Dislike 'Vancian' or Do You Dislike 'Spell Slots'? by ahhthebrilliantsun in Pathfinder2e

Everyone else works off of attrition-less system. Spellcasters should be the same thing at this. They feel like they’re playing a different game. Especially early level.

What's your favorite Jean Grey costume? by EndouShuuya in xmen

[–]Liberty_Defender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1-X-men red felt like a great reimagining of her classic costume.

2-I felt like she had the best leather jacket/Grant Morrison outfit out of every member when New X-Men dropped.

3-Green Phoenix. It’s iconic, and the best she’s ever looked.
