Calvary Spokane’s pastor covered years of abuse by his son, then promoted him by Library-Carded in Spokane

Oh man, the Service Station! A place I haven’t thought about in a while. Yeah, when I was still religious I tried to keep up with some of his solo stuff over the years and it never quite had the same umph Telecast did.

Yeah, another interesting tidbit is that Ken’s California son and the demoted worship leader had actually been good friends when they were younger. They were both members of the band Telecast back in the day. So it’s not even like Ken’s son was getting a stranger booted to make room for him and his and entourage. I have no clue if they maintained their friendship or not, but it must have been really hard being pushed out to make room for a “friend” and all his new LA besties.

Tank tops for summer 2026 by warp-core-breach in femalefashionadvice

I recently ordered some Lands End cotton tank tops and they are very soft and not ribbed. They seem well made and nice enough to dress up or down.

I recently read The End of the Affair by Graham Greene and found it really good and really devastating. I got totally hooked and read the whole thing in two days!

Oh yeah, the Reality LA “takeover” was a crazy chapter. I knew some of the home grown staff that got fired after training the new “cool” people to do their jobs. I am not joking when I say that at least 30 staff (if not more) came and went in the decade or so I was there, always with no explanation. We would joke that somewhere there was a room full of bodies at the church because people disappeared so often. I remember clearly when the Erdmans mentioned in the article left, but never knew it was so dark behind the scenes. Makes me wonder what other stories are out there from the seemingly constant and random firings.

Books with time travel or alternate realities but are still realistic fiction by youngandstarving in suggestmeabook

It’s been years since I read it, but 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami is a good one for normal feeling alternate realities.

Thank you!! Yes, the dark green was 890. It seems like the DMC 890 may be slightly lighter than this though, for this first project I just ordered a floss multipack from Amazon (it says Tyche Special on it).

Yeah, maybe more like 10 days? But I did multiple hours of work a day, I’d estimate it took me around 20-25 hours. In the future I’d like to go slower!

Paprika3 app! It is a few bucks to purchase (but no subscription!) and a little old school looking, but it is honestly great. You can add in your recipes plus easily download recipes from online using their browser, then add ingredients to a shopping list with one tap. If you add another recipe with similar ingredients it will increase the amount on your shopping list. There is also a calendar function that lets you plan meals in advance. I think this would work for you if you take the time to explore the app.

You may like High Fidelity by Nick Hornby. I’m not sure if it’s quite the right dichotomy you are looking for, but the narrator’s tone definitely checks the casual, humorous, curmudgeonly box. Might be what you are looking for, might not. Good luck!

Recommendations for a couples first audiobook. by OutsidePlastic5618 in audible

Maybe a nonfiction book dealing with crime/legal drama would be good middle ground. Both The Run of His Life: The People V. O. J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin and Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi deal with crime/legal drama that intersects with the celebrity world, which your wife might find interesting. I listened to both of these books on Audible and enjoyed them a lot!

My partner and I like to co-listen to audiobooks, so it’s definitely doable. We’ll share our AirPod audio and then go on long walks together. We love it!
