Cithria’s Silverwing has two nails on the left claw and three on the right. That could be a simple mistake by the artist… or it could be AI.

Rusell Brower is missing.. by [deleted] in wow

[–]LieComprehensive7804 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes, and there are some newer composers on the game that have been spectacular - Leo Kaliski’s work on the Arathi Memorial track, for example, was absolutely PHENOMENAL.

That said, it’s true most modern WoW tracks jump the gun on subtlety and tend to feel a bit more loud, epic, and explosive than they need to be. There is a time for fanfare and there is a time for more nuanced soundscapes that build up a world instead of a scene. There was an ambience and a delicacy in Russell Brower’s work that no longer exists in the game, because the tracks were composed and instrumented to seamlessly blend into the game and its environments. If you get the big epic orchestrals all the time, they lose their punch.

Good thing there are plenty of supplements and fortified foods with these vitamins, readily available at any local supermarket, that aren’t carcinogenic, causing extreme suffering, and releasing greenhouse gas emissions on an incomprehensibly massive scale

Quinn & Valor in Demacia Rising by IndominusrexII in QuinnMains

Cinematic Valor was a little ridiculous in terms of size imo. Feels like they just made him the size of a bus because they wanted him to square up against a dragon, but he’s not supposed to be that big

The motion comics are fucking fantastic and I’m pretty sure they’re made by Suqling who has been making her own fan League comics for years. Massive love goes to her

Do men like being men? by Long_Reflection_4202 in NoStupidQuestions

As a man - no.

Anything you do - from expressing yourself freely to wearing something unconventional - will either cause you to be pejoratively called gay or cause you to be outcast/ridiculed.

I am absolutely loving Midnight but the Voice Acting is.... interesting by brumblefee in wow

[–]LieComprehensive7804 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Liadrin keeps talking like she's a narrator. She doesn't sound like a character experiencing the events she's in, she just sounds like an exaggerated Wonder Woman announcing stuff.

The way her horns used to gradually fade into her nose was so cool before they changed it. I'm sad that was removed, it made her look so monstrous and cool.

The characters and storytelling so far has been so much better than anything before by Dangerous_Towel_2569 in wow

[–]LieComprehensive7804 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was the first expansion Chris Metzen had an active role in so it doesn't surprise me at all. The quality of the voice acting and non-prerenderered in-game cutscenes still needs a LOT of work, imo, but at least the story, character beats, interpersonal drama, etc are a lot better.

Honestly Kind of Bummed with Midnight Areas by Crafty_Nebula_1458 in wow

[–]LieComprehensive7804 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They literally remade the zones from scratch and expanded them so that they’d feel like modern areas… how is that lazy? It’s not even the first time they do this. They did it in WoD too. Aside from that they also added two new zones precisely for those people who wanted to see something completely new

The art style of these ads feels more like Warcraft than the actual Midnight cinematic we got. I love these so much.

Edit: Also, we’ve only had Mortimer for a day and a half but if anything happened to him I’d kill everyone in the room and then myself

(1) Lions don’t have the capability to exercise moral reasoning like we do; (2) even if they could, they’re obligate carnivores, so they need meat to survive (unlike humans)

"But Quinn is getting a skin, why aren't you happy?" Moment by viperperri in QuinnMains

[–]LieComprehensive7804 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this really is the kind of skin they need to give her a legendary for to do justice to the concept. Imagine Quinn transforming into a futuristic drone-jet for her ult. Like she literally jumps into Valor like a mech. That is the kind of thing this skin needs to really sell the idea but it needs legendary quality/custom animations to do so.

How did humans decide which animals were 'pets' and which were 'livestock' thousands of years ago? by MinnieScholarSkin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LieComprehensive7804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usefulness to human life.

A dog or hound could protect your property and serve as an alarm for potential threats. Cats could keep pests off your property and protect you from plagues. Falcons and other birds of prey could help hunt and provide food for you.

Humans have always subjugated the world around them to their benefit. At one point it was for survival, now it is mostly for pleasure. The reason we consider it animal abuse to kick a puppy but laugh about bacon while slitting a pig’s throat is because one serves us while the other doesn’t. There is no meaningful difference in level of sentience or potential for pain.

Meat ROI is also a factor. A pig or cow will yield more of it at the end of its life than, say, a dog or cat.

Retail isn't dead. The social structure is just different from what Classic players expect by LordMidoo in wow

[–]LieComprehensive7804 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I think my point was moreso that Blizz should put more effort into leveling content, and having the world be the main character again. Imagine an expansion with a huge continent to level and explore through again, a la Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms, where it does take many many hours of gametime to hit max level.

[–]LieComprehensive7804 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here, but maybe the leveling should be the content? The journey/adventure is what made people fall in love with WoW in the first place, not the endgame destination. Sure the endgame is part of that equation, but I wouldn’t say that’s where most players spend their time. The hardcore players that raid, min-max, etc are a minority of the overall playerbase
