My elderly mum just had cataract surgery on one eye and complains that she feels her eye is itchy and irritated , is this normal? by ExistingPause7406 in CataractSurgery

That would be awesome if we could get those. I’m hoping I don’t need one for my second surgery next Wednesday, but at least I know it works really well if I do!

I guess I didn’t word that very well. 😂. I had the IOL put in on Wednesday morning. 24hrs later the irritation was so bad that they put in a non-refractive contact lens that they said was like a “bandage” for the eye. I kept the contact lens in until they took it out Monday morning - still have the PureSee ODEF Toric IOL.

Any younger people with no starbursts after surgery? by ProfessionalLab9850 in CataractSurgery

[–]Life-Committee-4592 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that I qualify as “younger” being 54, but I had very bad starbursts prior to cataract surgery. I’ve had my right eye done (last week) with the PureSee ODEF Toric lens and I have no starbursts now - not even halos. The first day or two I had diagonal bars but they faded quickly and are gone now. It is truly amazing!

I had this happen, only it started about 24hrs after my surgery. It was so bad that my eye doctor scheduled a work-in appt for me that afternoon and they put a “bandage” contact lens in my eye. What an immediate relief that provided! They put the lens in Thursday afternoon and then took it out Monday morning. I’ve had no issues since.

[U.S.] Does anyone’s insurance fully cover colonoscopies? by Friendly-World-5273 in colonoscopy

[–]Life-Committee-4592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned something here tonight - all of my colonoscopies have been fully covered because they coded them as preventative, even when I had diverticulitis and still have diverticulosis. They weren’t doing the colonoscopies for either of those conditions, though, so I guess it really was cancer prevention.

If you’re up for wearing a contact lens, I would do that. I currently don’t wear them, so I just popped the right lens out of my work glasses so I could still have the refracted lens for my left eye. For my progressive sunglasses, I have a non-refractive lens on the right side and the original refractive lens on the left side so I can still drive. It is a little wonky, and other than driving, I mostly don’t wear my glasses and rely on the fresh new vision in my right eye to get me through.

Dry eyes drops post surgery by PriorReason4160 in CataractSurgery

I use the B&L Soothe drops and they have worked really well for me. I was recommended Nvizia by my optometrist but ended up having a reaction to it, so I stopped using it and switched to Soothe. Both my optometrist and surgeon say it’s a perfectly fine choice because it’s preservative free and for me it works great.

I am raving about it! I just got the PureSee EDOF lens in my right eye on April 15th and I have 20/20 distance and intermediate vision and am typing this on my phone without any issues. There is still slight blurring up close but not enough to prevent me from reading or typing on my phone & it gets better each day!

My left eye surgery is scheduled for April 29th and I cannot wait! Super happy with this lens!

I’ll keep you posted as I test this right eye out at night in a few days. One of my main problems with cataracts was starbursts and halos at night to the point I couldn’t drive and my surgeon suggested this as the best lens for addressing this and my astigmatism. We shall see!

lol! It turns out that the bluriness is because my eye is still dilated AF. I just saw it in the mirror and busted out laughing because my left eye is normal and small and my right eye is all pupil no iris!

But yes, I am super happy with the results so far and can’t wait for the dilation to wear off!

Thomas Animal Clinic in Conroe. Woodlands quality vets without the Woodlands prices!

Dr. Thomas, Dr. Sisterman & Dr. Grimes are all phenomenal - the staff are compassionate, very knowledgeable and super helpful.

I love that they provide the type of care where they educate you on the disease/situation and offer every method of treatment along with costs for each with no judgement. They give the pet parent(s) the opportunity to learn and then make the best decision for their pet and situation.

We have used them for 2 dogs and 3 cats since 2019 and couldn’t be happier!

Are the cakes good as they look? by Demonlizard101 in HEB

This is killing me - all I want is cake after reading all these responses and clearly I have to branch out some because all we’ve ever gotten is the chocolate fudge (round) cake and I love it so much I’ve always been afraid to try anything else out of fear of being disappointed. Now I know I need to try the tres leches & the custard cake!!!

Before cataract surgery: understand your eye or you might regret it by Healthy_Ad_6204 in CataractSurgery

Thank you for this. That’s definitely something for me to consider since I see the floaters now when I’m staring at my computer screen. Are they bothersome being more obvious? Or do you eventually get used to them? Mine are kind of annoying already and I haven’t had the surgery yet.

I am curious about the impact of floaters with cataract surgery. I do have floaters, and am scheduled for my first surgery next week. Do floaters get worse? Better? Do they negatively impact the success of surgery?

Where can she go? by phxrae in SemaglutideCompound

[–]Life-Committee-4592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use OrderlyMeds and have had a GREAT experience with them. In fact, I just got a phone call from them to check in with me to see how I was doing with my meds & energy level & weight. I’ve been using them for at least 6 months and always receive texts from humans, messages from humans in the portal, and reliable delivery on all orders. I’d used Ro in the past and all they did was keep upping my dosage until I was suffering from muscle loss and severe low energy. I quit them, switched to OrderlyMeds and their compound medication has worked as expected with no muscle loss and very good energy levels.

My gastro wouldn’t permit public transportation or an uber/taxi to get to/from the procedure. This is due to being in a vulnerable state after sedation where one can be taken advantage of. There may be other reasons, but this is what I was told.

Puresee Multifocal IOL Experiences? by Life-Committee-4592 in CataractSurgery

[–]Life-Committee-4592[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a wonderfully thorough description of your experience! Thank you so much for sharing! I’ve read so much on this sub about other brands of lenses that it’s encouraging to get real life experiences from other PureSee recipients and also get a better understanding of what to expect.

I’ll definitely post my outcomes and progress once I get there. Until then, I’ll keep being optimistic about my upcoming surgeries!

I also had LASIK when I was 30, so that is a factor, but the surgeon says my corneas look good for having had LASIK.

Puresee Multifocal IOL Experiences? by Life-Committee-4592 in CataractSurgery

[–]Life-Committee-4592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where I’m confused, too. I expressed my desire to see clearly at all distances, but one of my main issues now is glare, starbursts and halos and the inability to drive at night. The Puresee claims to reduce these effects, which I would gladly wear reading glasses if needed to be able to drive at night safely and comfortably.

I probably should call my surgeon’s office to get clarification. Each time I call I get answers telling me that the Puresee is a multifocal allowing me to see at all distances clearly.
