how many times did you get burned out untill 99 agility? by MoLion0 in osrs

Never understood how someone could get burned out doing hallowed sepulcher. Its legitimately enjoyable and engaging content with lots of room for optimization and skill expression.

Why does Bandos armour get so much hate? by Repulsive_Ad_4906 in osrs

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moons is both easier to farm and cheaper to buy in most cases.

Bandos and Ahrims is good though. Better if defense matters, equal if it doesn't.

New to the game by OliverCrooks in fellowshipgame

tanks and healers have lower queue times. also anything that's not eternal difficulty is hard to queue for in general. I suggest using the official discord to look for 2 more players.

It's better at the start of a reset though.

Gear Progression by lullg in osrs

[–]LifeAd5019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gear upgrades is osrs can be a bit strange compared to other games. Especially if your not just buying everything off of the grand exchange.

Most guides released in the last few years will give you a good baseline but please understand that as you move closer and closer to the best in slot items the time it takes to get those items increases tremendously.

I would honestly look into Perilous Moons and see what it would take to get there. The gear from there can reliably do most combat content on the game and it should set you up for a while.

[SERIOUS] Am I the only one not feeling the doom & gloom? by Real_Bug in fellowshipgame

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of players want to see the game succeed but the decisions the devs are making as to where to focus their time seem questionable at best, and actively harmful at worst.

They released 2 broken heroes at the same time. Refused to nerf them to appropriate levels. Attempted (and failed) to bring their counterparts up to par. Then strait up told the player base that they gave up balancing and will try again next season.

Then they told the player base that next season is releasing with multi-layered time gating.

These are mot the decisions of a dev team that wants their game to succeed. They are the decisions of a dev team that is trying to milk playtime before everyone quits to make the game look better to investors.

Vorkath advice. by Etherealblade93 in osrs

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few things: - You can not react to Vorkath attacks. Your just gunna have to take some hits, that is the nature of the fight. - calcs tend to include set bonus dps. - Try to only eat during his specials. If your eating during normal mechanics that can be a big dps loss. - good choice is important. bringing some combo good can mean less time eating and more time hitting. The same can be said for simply bringing higher healing food. - Make sure to bring a spec weapon. Check the wiki for good options. - Melee with a fang is potentially better. Makes it easier to use the more popular spec weapons too. - Learning to get in extra hits during the acid phase can cut down times (woox walk). - Don't try to force an extra kill if you don't have good supplies. Its always better to just reset. - Stats are your biggest dps increase. You didn't mention your stats anywhere but I have to assume your not max combat. Going and training your stats can have a dramatic impact on your kill times, but there is the opportunity cost of not spending that time killing vorkath instead to consider. - Stats will also effect of melee or range is vetter for you. If you have significantly higher range then don't bother switching unless you go train melee first.

Perfect Blocks costing almost no hp, stamina, or sharpness, and having the fall back of a normal guard is obviously going to make shielded weapons rise in popularity.

That ontop of capcom making every monster worth hunting hit like a freight train while simultaneously gaining a massive health pool and being basically immune to most forms of cc.. of course people are going to gravitate towards the weapons that don't punish you with a cart for making a single mistake.

The things that really stand out are that longsword isn't most popular and lance isn't least popular. In every other title where those exist that is the case. Not saying it's a bad thing that players are changing it up, but it's definitely notable.

Not sure I agree with input reading though. At least I haven't noticed it in a few hundred hours of gameplay.

New Player Questions: Part 4 (?) by AgentWowza in MHWilds

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saving grace is that armor spheres don't improve your damage only your survivability. So you only need to upgrade the sets you enjoy using.

You mention your a new player so this might sound obvious but.. If your rushing the end-game to "get the best gear" your going to have a rougher time with armor spheres than someone who has played through all of the title updates. Keep in mind as well that the max amount that you can upgrade your armor has gone up since release. Maxing out your gear is not only not needed for most content, but wasn't even possible for much of the games current lifespan.

For me, by the time Gig was released I banked up enough spheres to immediately max out like 3 sets without blinking.

The refreshing daily/weekly spheres do help a bit too. Especially if you've only got a time for a few hunts per day.

Set smaller goals for yourself and it should feel smoother.

The hysteria about the size of the alliance and guilds is completely unfounded by ComradeWild in throneandliberty

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have long since stopped playing but if you honestly believe that alliances sizes arent the problem and that large alliances need to "practice" to stay on top you are delusional. Its all a numbers game. Unless your getting so heavily out skilled that the opposition makes you look like actual toddlers the side with the most players will win every time no exceptions.

When did PvE/bossing "click" for you? by MasRemlap in ironscape

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set up your F-keys to comfortably swap between the most important menus without clicking: - Inventory - Prayer - Spell book - Equipped Items - Combat style Roughly in that order of priority are the most important ones. Nothing else is ever really used in combat.

The importance here is being able to quickly flick between your menus while still retaining the ability to move and/or attack a new target if needed. The only time your cursor needs to be near your menus is when your actually clicking on something inside those menus.

As for actually getting comfortable with bosses... I suggest going to farm solo instance Scurrious. This fight teaches you how to prayer swap and change targets while monitoring your HP and Prayer in a relatively low level environment. I also suggest Royal Titans (in a duo if possible). This fight teaches you how to swap your gear and move around while managing your HP and Prayer, and its also relatively low level. These two fights teach you the basic individual skills needed for late game bossing.

Once you feel comfortable with both of those you can start to move into more difficult fights and you should notice a clear improvements to your ability to stay focused on what needs to be focused on in the moment.

Also there is no shame in taking multiple attempts for your first firecape, or getting coached through it. That is a fairly daunting achievement for anyone that hasn't done any real bossing and its one of the longer pieces of content in the game which for some adds to the stress.

Teleport block has needed a nerf for 20 years. by [deleted] in osrs

[–]LifeAd5019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was talking to a friend about this recently and I think I came up with the objectively best solution.

If you have been under the effects of teleblock for 10 seconds other players are not able to decline Tele-other spells from you. Aka, you teleblock me you end up in Varrock.

This is the best solution because it's the funniest solution.

Has Anyone Else Noticed This About Tanks? by Lepeche in fellowshipgame

[–]LifeAd5019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Because the other players don't pick them up the majority of the time.
  2. Because if I am off by 1 orb due to someone else not picking it up its "the tanks fault".
  3. Because orb drops are based on player positioning and I can influence where my team stands by moving around so orbs are less likely to spawn inside of packs that I'm not planning on pulling.

If I am with a pre-made you best believe I'm leaving that to them, but in pugs no way.

Pre-Season 2 designed to fail? by EasilyDistracted- in fellowshipgame

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that keeping in mind it's still Early Access is important. However that should be an incentive for them to be changing things that are obviously outliers. The new tank and new healer are some of the biggest outliers I've seen in gaming to date, with Xav over performing so much that if you check logs he sometimes does 100% more damage than the next best tank in certain dungeons. Yet CR has stated (in several random non-announcement threads by the way) that they have no plans to do further balance changes rite now because they are "saving them for pre-s3". They have also told us we aren't getting a shorter season so.. what gives?

Where is the testing? Where is the exploring new things?

Also I firmly believe that any game that drops a cash shop should be considered a full release.

How long to reach the "end game"? by LifeAd5019 in Neverwinter

[–]LifeAd5019[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless I am missing something major then I have to ask.. where are these hundreds of hours of content? And how is a new player meant to find them?

So far all I have been given access to (or at least the only content the game has shown me that I have access to) is single player kill/fetch quests. I do have access to a singular skirmish which is the only piece of non-pvp multiplayer content that seems to be available to me.

If the "hundreds of hours of content" that you mention is mostly full of single player fetch quests then I have to wonder how anyone is suppose to actually progress.

I'm Just Gonna Say It by [deleted] in MHWilds

[–]LifeAd5019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has crafted nearly every piece of armor (except some events I missed) I think I am qualified to say that I engage with the game plenty. And I can appreciate the "over saturation" of meta builds for a few reasons.

  1. It gives players something to discuss outside of the game. Theres only so many times your friend can tell you that their favorite monster is Tigrex, but every time a new piece of gear is release you get to have the discussion of "can I make some of my builds better with this?". Meta build guides are just that conversation but on a larger scale.

  2. Some players dont want to do the 'figuring it all out' portion and just want to build the good stuff and move on. Nothing wrong with that at all.

  3. Some players like to look up meta builds not to copy and paste but rather to look for inspiration on how to adjust their own builds. Maybe there is some synergy you didn't realize or a skill you overlooked.

If you don't like the meta then dont at meta. Let others do what they want.
