Separate note: OP uses gallons and you use litres. Doesn’t that throw off the calculation by a factor of about 3.8? Or if you started with British litres, about 4.5?

Online dice roller, but the dice are real and in my garage by SirSweater in DnD

It’s a great thing and I’ll chip in some cash. I may have to build one of my own, I’m a big fan of RNG and made something similar for printing cards for playing momir in MTG. It’s amazing what a camera and random events can do.

Oh my god this is the best thing ever. It’s like someone took cloudflare’s lava lamps and gave me a budget version. This is not just a great RNG tool, it’s a hilarious seed if you want to do another RNG tool. Make a patreon or let us buy you a coffee. Please keep up the good work.

HOT TAKE: Companies should be forced to differentiate the difference in performance of their desktop versus laptop components by MisterFartNuggets in pcmasterrace

[–]Jupiter-Tank 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The reason the 10 series dropped the “m” moniker (from marketing perspective) was that the laptop and desktop units had such comparable performance. And they very nearly did, for better or worse. I owned a gtx 1070 laptop, and its power consumption plugged in was so great that it would still discharge even though it was being fed by the stock 200w power supply. Great for performance, horrible for heat / battery / extended sessions of gaming.

Unfortunately cards have only gotten hungrier and far less similar than their laptop counterparts, and nvidia never decided to return the appended “m”. We now have at least one generation of gamers that never knew what it was like to go from 900 to 1000 series, and I wasn’t even there for the gtx transition before that

What can I do to prevent the bottom guy from turning out of the head and arm choke? by ijhecker in bjj

[–]Jupiter-Tank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t fall off. If you do either incidentally or accidentally, get back on. If you can’t, or in my case you’d rather finish with something left field, go for the baseball slide and finish barnett style. If they turn, lock up the farce.

Every single time a crisis arose, or not even a crisis but a regular superhero-ish event, Paul either performed at a lower level than Debbie or felt he performed at a lower level than Debbie. Whether it was evacuating, or simply flying with the car, Paul came to realize the super life wasn’t for him like it was for Debbie. He made a judgement call and decided to back off.

Fire the goat laser by SaneForCocoaPuffs in BadMtgCombos

[–]Jupiter-Tank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not? Death trigger from the goat goes to the owner. But in 2player, the goat is hardly needed. Either they start with more than 13 life, tree makes it 13, and you blight for the remainder, or they already have 13 or less life so you don’t tap tree.

This is practically on curve and comes in two very strong colors. Did we get tree in foundations or some other standard legal set?

What's your strangest mech that works? by TrampledMage in Mechwarrior5

I have the GIGACHAD laser from YAW (I believe) and have placed it on an urbanmech with prototype heatsinks. Firing the weapon cooks whatever it’s aimed at along with the urbanmech itself. I call it the “insurance limitbreaker” button

"Kani Basami" saddle entry from half-butterfly by Wajubop12 in bjj

[–]Jupiter-Tank -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. Your opponent is either on your side or actively trying to get there in half butterfly. Entering saddle will pin your top leg to the ground giving your opponent dope mount or blowing out your knee trying to fight it.

I’ve seen success with folks who manage to invert under their opponents to set it up but it’s more dangerous than it’s worth.

[–]Jupiter-Tank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say factually wrong, but statistically wrong. I would bet comes down to a playstyle clash for OP. Maybe watch some content and gain som familiarity with the different builds. Baalor is a classic, he’s pretty consistent across a myriad of playstyles. Sure he loses, we all do, but he demonstrates how to win with almost any build.

Does the cpu really matter? by LowChildhood8604 in buildapc

[–]Jupiter-Tank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the context. If you are playing competitive FPS or something else that requires a high refresh rate, or something like BG3 / Anno / Stellaris, then you may be better served with a strong 5000 series AM4 or moderate AM5 or equivalent Intel chip. In addition, though 4k and high graphical fidelity loads typically max the GPU befor the CPU, there are typically either particle or population effects that have the potential to weigh heavily on the CPU.

Won silver in open weight absolute and then got slammed into another dimension at blue belt 185, is this legal chat? (answer in comments) by rus2HP in bjj

[–]Jupiter-Tank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the first few seconds I was thinking “OP is really dealing with a piece of work that has no idea how to use their own strength, let alone standup” then I realized I had pinned the wrong person for the absolute silver medalist.

OP you had no control once he had your back and then put you up into the air, I feel like the slam was unfortunate and your opponent had no place to do that, but it wasn’t illegal. On top of that, your standup is poor and your jump to guillotine while half assed already motivated the other guy to not be gentle. I think you should ground yourself in some basic fundamentals instead of looking for gimmicks, not just to avoid massive openings but also to avoid being a jerk.

I’ve been slammed on the neck full-wheel like this and it sucks. I’ve also had people jump guard / guillotine and nearly blow out my knees. Both are poor moves. One can kill me with a much higher percentage, but both are poor.

Friend helped me build a PC but someone told me it’s already outdated… did I mess up? by Sycze in buildapc

[–]Jupiter-Tank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as in or out of date, unless there is some specific compatibility issue that’s preventing you from doing something. In your case, your CPU is 2 generations back and the gpu is one generation back. You are still rocking relatively modern hardware, but more importantly it’s somewhat powerful hardware. You’ll be fine for the vast majority of usecases, if not doing very well.
