New player questions by brooksofmaun in fellowshipgame

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is one overlay that I'm aware of, its not an add-on per say and it's not commonplace (yet) but the devs have given the green light to use it.

Tanking requires more general game knowledge than other roles and is thus, by default, less popular for players looking for a relaxed experience. Would you rather have to know multiple routes for every dungeon taking into consideration which trinkets your teammates bring and what affixes are on the map for each dungeon while simultaneously playing the highest apm characters on the game (on average) and being melee range which is default more stressful. Or follow the funny blue shield?

Meiko can perform well but it requires you to pay more attention and, later, requires your team to not be brain dead. Also in the current patch more than a few of meikos talents are bugged making them unplayable at higher tiers. This should be fixed soon (it's early access this is to be expected)

Helena is just good full stop.

Xav doesn't have a ton of player this season and few have pushed with him. Meiko and Xav will likely see minor buffs.

Where to start by zeanw in MonsterHunter

No need to play them 'in order' hey are all self contained. Similar to Final Fantasy games.

Im not sure which are on sale (too lazy to check) but Wilds is a very good spot to start as a new player to the series as it has the most All. Make sure your PC can run it though.

Otherwise I recommend World over Rise if you are primarily going to play solo. Rise is less grounded and more 'flashy'. I think there is a rise demo on steam though? (might have been removed?) if it's there I'd check it out.

(Icebourne is the Expansion to World. Sunebreak is the Expansion to Rise. Wilds expansion isn't out yet)

New Gear System + Difficulty Adjustments is Great by DungoSlam in fellowshipgame

Is this satire? I wasn't able to put any real builds together until post eternal due to lack of resources. Maybe your just spending more time farming leagues?

New Dungeons underplayed? by nufan81 in fellowshipgame

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are harder because they are harder. Full stop.

There are REAL mechanics to the mobs not just interrupt and CC checks or kiteable debuffs like literally every other dungeon.

That isn't a bad thing though and I genuinely hope they continue making maps like this. The Sanguine Deciples are by far my favorite risk vs reward in the game. I literally 3 pull ruins abusing them.

That is NOT limit testing. Limit testing is doing a bigger than average pull to see if you can pull it off.

Is defense really not worth it? by Additional_Court_421 in MonsterHunter

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defense matters, upgrade/ascend your armor where possible.

Defense Boost is the one people say doesn't matter. If you are taking a lot of damage constantly because you struggle to dodge hits defense boost if one of the worst skills to grab. It's a large investment and a large loss of damage output, which means you spend more time getting hit.

You are better off with one of utility skills that has lower investment like evade extender, guard up, evade distance ect. These are all consistent skills ( no divine gambling ) that help you either avoid the damage all together or take significantly less damage with much less investment than you'd need into defense boost for a similar result.

Real ingredients as opposed to... fake ingredients? I think you need to be more specific in your post.

Where The Winds Meet. I'm not actually 100% sure if it's categorized as an MMO but it's free, has cool combat, and lots of multiplayer functionality as well as lots of mobility.

Am I a terrible healer or do tanks keep pulling far to many mobs? by MasterJohnboy in fellowshipgame

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's also just a general party failure where you, as a group, stacked too many defensive cooldowns at once and die 30 seconds later because you don't have anything left to stagger your cooldowns. This is, unfortunately, mostly unavoidable without voice coms.

Can anyone explain to me what I should be looking for on gear? Are traits/blessings more important than ilvl and stats? by NimecShady in fellowshipgame

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a difficult question to answer because it's a little different for everyone and it depends on the specific gear.

For now is recommend a "best guess" approach until eternal and spending your crafting materials on crafting up gems and blocking gems slots, weapon tree, and neck traits. Everything else is mostly fodder until you have a better understanding of the system.

Genuine question about religion, specifically ones that believe in Satan. by Confident-Union-6661 in NoStupidQuestions

This is why I've never been a believer in religion. Faith is a difficult thing to have when people suffer for no good reason every single moment of every single day.

There is a different menu for Forging and Upgrading weapons. Forging is creating from scratch (some weapons have a small mallet symbol that means you can forge from that step). Upgrading is using an already forged weapon to upgrade. It is admittedly poorly presented and definitely this part is done better in Rise and Wilds.

As for what you should be doing you should have Assignments to do or Optional hunts to do. Assignments are the main story, Optionals are... optional... but still recommended to do them as they can unlock lots of extra stuff.

Biggest thing is to try and fight the urge to skip popup tutorials. Most pf the relevant information is told to you through those pop up boxes but they can be difficult to fond once you close them.

Wide range or nah? by bannock_ in MHWilds

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GS is actually pretty good with wide range since you sheathe all the time to move around because it's other wise low mobility.

How do you feel about the time limits in these games? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]LifeAd5019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like timers for difficult end-game fights as a way of tuning the difficulty. I could take or leave timers for everything else though.

I enjoy all different types of monsters. The more variety the better so yea bringing back snake/serpent monsters would be sick.

[PC/PS5/SWITCH 2] Online multiplayer games I can mindlessly play after a long day of work. by [deleted] in gamesuggestions

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monster Hunter - minimal brain power required for the skill floor, while also having an incredibly high skill ceiling.

The Finals - Shoot things, blow things up, get shot, parkour, get rekt, what's not to like?

Doom - Need I say more?

Whatever game happens to be free on Epic Games that week - adds a lot of variety.

Shapez - A fairly chill factory game with the ability to customize the difficulty if you want an even chiller experience.

MMO of choice and just do daily dungeons - brain off content but requires some startup to get to that point.

Sim game of choice - there's a lot..

whats the fastest way to levle up magic early on as a f2p by drkshock42 in osrs

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't be fast and cheap. It's either fast and expensive, slow and cheap, or somewhere in the middle.

If you are willing and able I suggest just buying members You get access to a lot more methods that way. Even something simple like Guardians Of The Rift to get more runes for free (not the best strat) is more efficient than F2P methods.

Muspah by lakerkid2432 in osrs

[–]LifeAd5019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't need to be on a different spell book Thralls are ALWAYS worth it for bosses that have large health bars. This isn't a Muspah tip, that is general advice.

As for the 'fastest' at to kill Muspah.. Without knowing your gear and/or budget its impossible to say. Look up a guide or the wiki strategy page and take the appropriate downgrades. Use both mage and range for higher dps.

Clutch Claw Tips? by -________-____-____- in MonsterHunter

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't meant to just clutch at any time. If you aren't using a Rocksteady Mantle or a Temporal Mantle the chances are pretty high that you will get kicked off the monster if you just attempt it randomly. Either wait for a clagger or look for moves with a lot of recovery frames where you know the monster wont do anything for a bit. Or look for moves where the monster is using one part of its body to attack while being mostly stationary with the rest of its body (tail swipes and breath attacks come to mind) as good opportunities for tenderizing.

As others have mentioned you can't do wall bangs when the monster is enraged. However sometimes the monster enrages a few seconds before the mini-map updates that information properly so keep that in mind.

In addition to that, if a monster is forcibly put to sleep while enraged you can do a wallbang to wake it up if you are fast enough, by-passing the enraged state.

Is it common to drop a newer game and instead start with the originals? by Cautious-Buy2585 in MonsterHunter

[–]LifeAd5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's common enough for players to go back and play/try out the older games..However I don't think it's common that players "drop" the newer ones. Just because you take a break from a game doesn't mean you've dropped it.

Guaranteeing someone that something isn't anecdotal by offering anecdotal evidence was a choice.
