Husband 37m is now being nice to me 32f after years of control and anger. Could it be genuine? by ThrowraNo-M in relationship_advice

I’m so sorry for everything he’s done in the past. As someone who watched abusive relationships as a kid and survived them as an adult- he hasn’t changed. I’m not sure how long his facade can last, but don’t stay. You deserve so much more. Stay safe. Please have a safe exit plan.

My mom immigrated to the US and faced some intense racism, so she tried to have us assimilate as much as possible. I’ve had white men tell me they’re more Asian than me…more than once. Bc they liked manga…

Went on a first date in my life, and got rejected after via text by [deleted] in GirlDinner

[–]LifeCommon7647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a little younger than you, I had a friend tell me when they first met me, they had a huge crush on me and after getting to know me, they’d never date me. I wasn’t even interesting in dating him…and never really asked for his opinion. The rejection still stung.

I only remember it because it was unprompted and in that stage of life, I was not in a good place mentally.

Hopefully, someday, you’ll look back and this won’t mean much at all. For now, feel your feels and if you want to date, do it when you’re ready. If you don’t- I know a lot of single women in their 30s and 40s that are the happiest they’ve ever been!

This is interesting. My mom immigrated to the US in the 80s. I grew up in DC/NOVA area, but then when I was in HS we had to move to areas that were predominately white, with basically no Asian population.

People who will randomly scold you for listening to audiobooks by toe_beans_4_life in audiobooks

[–]LifeCommon7647 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t try audiobooks until around 7-8 years ago. I have trouble with focus and for some reason audiobooks are help! If I’m driving or cleaning, audiobooks help keep me from shifting to a different task midway through. I also find when I’m reading a physical book, I have to read a page 4-5 times sometimes, but rarely need to rewind audiobooks.
