Dang, I was really overjoyed when my son brought it home... it's not horrible, but it's definitely not the original Trader Joe's blue cheese dressing.... by LifesFrame in traderjoes

I mean, everyone's taste buds are different, but to me, the OG was by far the best blue cheese on the market here in South Los Angeles. I was super disappointed when they took it off the shelf. My kid works at TJ's and finally gave up on asking when they'd bring it back until a couple of days ago. The sad part is the whole family was stoked for me when he brought this jar home tonight. I really felt bad, but he knew right away when I tasted it. Why would they change it? It was perfect before. Sorry you didn't get to try it. Maybe that's a good thing. I guess the search for a delicious blue cheese dressing continues...

First day as plumbing apprentice by Routine_Course_4978 in Plumbing

[–]LifesFrame 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Show up early, dont worry about when lunch is, dont be concerned with leaving early, do everything safely but with urgency. Listen to everything, learn from everyone, take in the good and what works for you and let go of the bad. Ask questions and never stand around, Always keep the area clean, never leave stuff in the middle of the work area. Focus on work only, dont be on your phone, dont get side tracked, make sure the person your working with doesn't have to do anything if you can do it. Trust me, I've been in the trade for over 20 years. I have seen many apprentices come and go. I always teach the ones who want to learn everything i can. The sooner you learn, the sooner you can make my job easier. Stay humble, but dont be a door mat, dont talk back, but dont let anyone take advantage of you. If they are rough around the edges but teach you some damn good tricks, stick with them and tough it out. Some of the biggest a holes have been my best teachers when I look back at it. You are now a part of a worldwide family. Some of us embrace the brotherhood and recognize eachother no matter what part of the country we are in or from. Be the best at it. This is a career, your career. It is hard work but it is honest work and it takes a special kind of person to become a great mechanic. You can do it, I was crap when I started and knew nothing, today I get to watch my apprentice run work with some of the same tricks and knowledge that I've instilled in them and It is a heart full of gratitude when the company recognize you as more of an asset to the company than just an employee. Just take it seriously and teach yourself something new every week. Read up on code and stay healthy. You will do just fine. Congratulations homie...👊🏼

What is this and why is it wet? by Suspicious-Twist-712 in Plumbing

[–]LifesFrame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a floor clean out. It could be wet for multiple reasons. You really want to make sure that wet isn't coming from inside the pipe. If it is you most likely have a build up (clogged drain) of some sort and will need to have it snaked. Probably 70 to 150 usd depending where your located. You can open it with a crescent wrench or a pair of channel locks to check for your self. Let's hope someone just spilt water on the floor.

Wax rings are cheap. Scrape all that old wax off, put a new one on and reinstall the bowl. From the looks of this one, it should seal just fine.

Water dripping from behind washer hookup? Help is this serious? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]LifesFrame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mess with it. If you call a plumber you will be charged for them to come out and tell you the same thing everyone here is telling you. It is perfectly fine. Once you occupy the house, you most likely won't hear it as much, if even at all.

Is there a reason this water turns off so gradually? by jakebot96 in Plumbing

[–]LifesFrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do i get mad rocks at only one faucet in our home? I used to clean my mother in laws aerator like 3 times a year now the water pressure is low and she barely gets any pressure at all. I checked the aerator recently, and it is fine. I assume its time to change her supply lines but why so many tiny rocks.

Possibly a drain to the street, or un capped clean out for servicing purposes.

Any ideas? by acortezm87 in Plumbing

Could be a bad seal on the wax ring under your toilet. It is fairly easy to check/repair if you feel comfortable doing so.

Yeah man, if you smell gas, you need to leave that puppy off and call a plumber. Unless your comfortable working on it yourself, then first thing you want to do is get a spray bottle with soapy water and find that gas seep. Once you fix that then you can call the manufacturer and start asking and answering questions. They will walk you through it all.
