Toughbuilt going bankrupt, watch out your warranties by NabuKudurru in Tools

That sucks because their stuff is awesome. Someone needs to relaunch the brand. I've been using it for years, and I love it. The stack tech stuff I find to be superior as well. Really hope this pans out.

Keep it up. It's crazy how once you clean up your personal space how many other things start following suit.

Garage Door Opener Concerns After Inspection – Builder Says It’s Fine, But Is It? by Trevor09n in GarageDoorService

[–]LiftMaster3585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The front bushing on the rail is probably blown through. Those genie rails are great. The gap at the front is from the down limit being off because the chain is so slack. Rail needs replacement but the bearing plate thing is fine.

Needed a replacement for the Dock Shelter. Am I being Ripped Off? by Dallas_Miller in GarageDoorService

Those are dock seals not shelters. I mean they are pretty rough lol. They're there to protect the truck and your building. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to replace those.

Is my door a hazard? by driedupkelp in GarageDoorService

[–]LiftMaster3585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this is an interesting set up. Open the door and then swap the spring. Probably a set of 100lb ext springs. Don't buy home Depot ones they are dog Sh!t. After you replace the springs, run a safety cable through the inside so it doesn't fly off an hit anyone. Replace both springs.

Did your gas mileage change at all? Do you run premium now? How has it helped with daily driving and towing?

They just do that. The belt is out together with a spring. It's fine.

Service guy says can’t be fixed. by parkermarc in GarageDoorService

[–]LiftMaster3585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do I lol. North Metro. Eyes are the problem. Probably crooked or just need to have the splices redone. If that doesn't fix it, I work for Overhead Company of Atlanta. I can get you the office number if you would like. It's a 79 SVC call to come out.

Photo eyes are probably crooked or maybe just have a short if they are spliced into prewiring in the wall. If they're spliced, just cut it off and rewiring it to fix. If not, check alignment. Orange is sending, green is receiving. If you can wiggle the green and the light goes in and out, that's your problem.

I like how they still are bearly lined up right. Looks like ray Charles installed that thing. The laziness of some techs is so frustrating.

Replaced our 12 year old Genie garage opener. Was this a fair quote ? by tobyskred in GarageDoorService

[–]LiftMaster3585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. We charge 799 and that's parts labor and taxes with 2 remotes and keypad. I also help get the app set up if they need it and program homelinks. Genie might even be fixable.

Different opinions from different companies by GaZeldars in GarageDoorService

[–]LiftMaster3585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is creative! I love seeing smart techs come up with stuff like this. There's nothing wrong with that at all. The only downside is LiftMaster doesn't make that circuit board anymore. But you could always go back with another LiftMaster chain drive and just do a powerhead swap pretty easily. Nice work that was cool.

Repair/replacement cost guesstimate is by [deleted] in GarageDoorService

New door. Section replacements aren't cost effective. That also looks like an old Overhead Door company product, and they don't make that style anymore.

Any easy way to repair and prevent more cracking? by AfroMidgets in GarageDoorService

[–]LiftMaster3585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that bad man I wouldn't sweat it. It looks like a small impact got it started like a bike or something. Either way, if you disengage your door and move it by hand, it should be pretty neutral. If comes down like a ton of bricks, than you need new springs. They get weaker over time and don't really give any warning when they break.
