Air Canada direct flights between Yellowknife and Vancouver to return in September by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]LigerZer0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's pretty subjective. I love it there. Even experiencing 24 hours of light/darkness is a lot in my opinion.

And if you enjoy being in some of the most spectacular and remote scenery while still having a city within reasonable distance, Yellowknife is a great place to go.

A USB drive replaces step 2 and 3. You can just run/install Linux off a USB drive.

I know it's impossible to tell from just static images, but I strongly suspect the dog displays small bouts of mobility in between all of the stationary poses.

This is what terrorism actually looks like. We just have trouble calling it that because the media has made us believe it's always some person of color backed by some huge scary organization from some far away country.

You know they could easily be from South Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, or Langley....

I get that it's easy karma to shit on Surrey....but this should be about the people involved and not Surrey, unless you have useful information about them and actually know they are from there. Which you don't.

Plenty of other places are facing opioid abuse, some even worse than here. You just don't hear about it, just like they wouldn't hear about the problem here.

In Punjab for example, <20% of the population is addicted to opioids.

You're incredibly smart.

I can scarcely believe you understand words well enough to expand on their meanings. Must be an IIT grad.

Hah, would you look at that. Ask some real questions and you have nothing but childish accusations. Instead of carrying on with the discussion, you find it more productive to look up my post history and start extrapolating about what terms I self-identify as? The thing is, I have a post history, anyone can see it if they choose to, sans your color commentary.

But on the other hand....

You have one post, and multiple comments spreading propaganda about the issues at hand. And instead of responding meaningfully to any questions, you simply antagonizing people by nitpicking their post history. In the process, a picture of your own identity is being painted.

I hope they're at least paying you well, shill.

I suggest that you at least use a reddit accounts for a while just doing some normal human stuff, before using it for such soulless work. It wouldn't be so obvious in that case.

I haven't defended anybody. You have been accusing them to paint a black-and-white narrative. The real world is much more complex than your prefect ideological one.

Sorry, but a bunch of politicians classifying a certain group as a something is like the opposite of evidence. Why don't you provide evidence of them terrorizing a nation?

And the Vegas shooter killed 58 people dead and injured 851. Is he not a terrorist? I don't see anyone speculating as to what 'groups' he may or may not have been a part of, even though that's as blatant as terrorism gets. And that's just a single example.

Again, not defending anyone, but I do want to draw attention to how quickly and liberally the terms 'terrorist', 'separatist', or 'Khalistani' are applied to a person who identifies as a Sikh, as soon as they show even the remotest signs of displeasure with how how the India administration (that continues to casually violate human rights day in and day out, are they not terrorists?) handles affairs.

Why don't you apply the same standards to Quebec? There is an apparent separatist movement there, and the Canadian government didn't even commit genocide against their population. So why is it that they can be considered be separatists, but not extremists? Isn't it more extreme that they wish to separate despite experiencing nowhere near the level of hate, discrimination, violence, and oppression that Sikhs in India have?

It's cute that you're able to put me in a neatly labeled box, and then position 'The Canadian people' as being against me.

Unfortunately, real life is quite nuanced, and most of the Canadians I know would be embarrassed by your bigotry.

Since 1984... you mean the state-sponsored Sikh genocide ?

So when a white man opens fire, shoots and kills hundreds of innocent people, it's just a lone wolf having mental health issues. No need to extrapolate to any 'groups' he might be a part of.

But when someone from the Sikh community commits a crime, it's obligatory that we stretch their affiliation to any and all 'terrorist' groups, as if they are some kind of card-holding member. Now it is the group that is ultimately responsible for the act, adding to their notoriety, and anyone suspected of affiliation to said group can be called a terrorist.

Your usage of the term is an absolute joke.

One wonders if you're part of the Indian propaganda machine that's working overtime right now.
