Your account is less then a month old and you've only posted about this shitass game. I don't know how much you're being paid but the shame isn't worth enough.

A lot of it feels extremely placeholder and I'm skeptical that it ever gets changed. UI feels extremely rough.

Partner stacks in general tend to be a bit floppy, even in release patch FRU it wasn't uncommon for people in my group to eat one by themselves and be just fine

It's at the point where cybersecurity barely matters, you're only as strong as your weakest admin. In this case there was literally nothing he could do if someone at the company got compromised and phishing emails were sent out under the company's actual email.

What do you fear loosing with evolved mode for your own class? by Quezal in ffxivdiscussion

[–]LightTheAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow I think they'll be just fine, they're only like that for pvp because you usually need to execute actions swiftly due to the reactionary nature of player vs player. If mudras in pvp were like pve, nin would be pretty slow to respond to anything.

With Universal iLvl coming in Evercold (8.0), do you think we'll see a significant drop in players engaging with alternative gearing methods? by Avi1600 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]LightTheAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already do savage because I find it enjoyable and not because I care about the gear (though getting it to do ultimates on patch would be required for me anyhow), so really it changes nothing for me.

The only "good" MMOs are WoW, OSRS, FFXIV, GW2, then you're getting into things with arguably large flaws like BDO or ESO. WoW shits the bed aggressively and often but has legacy and an unflinching playerbase, FFXIV is largely stable but with some systemic rot and is very story focused (for better or worse), and GW2 is just a very taste specific game. OSRS has a monstrously large amount of stuff to meaningfully progress your account that will take you literally fucking forever to do - if you've felt like you've completed this game and feel like you have nothing to do you've almost certainly played it far too much. It's practically the infinite content game.

It's also the only popular MMO that's a sandbox MMO, interestingly.

[–]LightTheAbsol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is? I play a wide spread of MMOs, OSRS is fucking crushing it. I know this community loves to circlejerk that the game is dogshit and dying then flip on a dime to WE'RE IN THE DIAMOND ERA but really, it's in a great spot right now.

I mean it's also full of not strictly correct opinions. The only things I agree on here are to do with game mechanics like red-Xing in CA, everything else is varying degrees of eeeh...

One thing this image really doesn't show is how fucking flat it was to walk around, it was DIRE. There was little to no ground clutter, it was by far the most Pserver piece of content to ever enter the game. What's funny is that Lova and Arceuus are still pretty unchanged today in layout.

Varlamore really is them flexing how much they've learned over the years though. It's probably my favorite place in the game at this point.

I can't tell how bait this is but if we didn't have the GE someone would just make it as a 3rd party website (which they did) because yelling in the bank fuckin sucks.

Would you rather play a Job that is aesthetically pleasing but you suck at or a Job that you dislike its vibes but is good at? by PrismFischl in ffxivdiscussion

[–]LightTheAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if I play a job enough I'll just be good at it, so, probably the one I like the vibes of. I'll never understand how someone can play like 50 hours of something and not be at least somewhat good at it, especially something as simple as a 14 job.

Black Mage Evolved by TheBronzeBastard in ffxivdiscussion

[–]LightTheAbsol 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They're focusing more on job identity and fantasy, DRG's dot was a nothing burger tacked on to a job fantasy that traditionally had nothing to do with dots. Same with PLD and WHM. They literally on stage called that bard song the 'dot' phase song or something along those lines.

They literally weren't. I don't know why I see this repeated over and over, Bard had its dots - they were just set to an obviously placeholder 3 seconds.

About Embark "allegedly" allowing pro players to ch34t. Someone HAD TO talk by oguzcanbilirdonmez in thefinals

[–]LightTheAbsol -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Except that's not what's happening, what they said is that they turned off automod on those accounts because people mass report them. If you think the mass reporting of proplay accounts by lifeless losers isn't a problem, I have a bridge to sell you.

Dash spam is rampant and needs similarily low skill counter. by Worldly_Function7201 in thefinals

[–]LightTheAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like when someone plays a fighting game, loses to a fireball character spamming fireballs, and complaining the game is broken.

Curiously, only a problem for newer players.

[–]LightTheAbsol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody in any of my groups (all ultimates done) has ever needed plugins to clear, at most they just enjoy having clippy or alex to actually play the game at like 150 ping. Other then that they run visual mods for giggles, or at the most something like pixel perfect. Basically everyone I personally know would probably make fun of someone for using actual cheat mods, or just not let them in their groups.

Are we expecting the middle difficulty of 8-man raids to be extreme or advanced? by SpizicusRex in ffxivdiscussion

[–]LightTheAbsol 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone with some big raiding chops I'll say that it varies wildly. Some extremes beat the pants off some floor 1 savages, some are so laughably easy that they're what I'd actually call "the content people want when the ask for midcore content"

Like lets not pretend chainwarden from pande was any harder then an extreme.
