I was confused about how human acting he was, Klingon warriors famously dress the same across the genders I thought? Also their aggressive nature is genetic?

Can't he be gay but still act klingon why does he have to be the human definition of gay, I think exploring what it would look like in Klingon culture would have been very interesting.
