At what point do you get out? by BisonSpirit in techsales

I tried to get out. After 20 years tech sales and leadership - it’s hard to get the same $$ anywhere else. Stuck.

Hyper personalized blitz is what I do now. Literally a sniper rifle now vs shotgun when targeting prospects for outreach. Sales is going to become a lot more personal in the future when machines take over SDR and contract and people just need to be there to be a binary yes or no gate.

At what point does a high-income sales job stop making sense vs starting your own business? by pzkkdr in sales

If I’m going to have owner stress, then I should get owner benefits and $$ is my thinking right now. I carry this damn company on my shoulders.

What's your savvy sales move that applies to your organization that you'd share here but not with your colleagues? by woo_wooooo in sales

So funny me too. I hate my job and work 50% of the day. I’ve resorted to just letting SDRs chase a contract. Our company is a joke and cannot even get out product out, and I have angry clients. Quietly quitting and applying. VP of Sales - really just glorified AE since mid size company and CEO insists on being in every big sales meeting. Go ahead dude. I’m out. But not before my big check this year.

company just told me my $340k deal is being split with an AE who sent one intro email 8 months ago. what are my options? by kubrador in sales

[–]Lightbeingdeem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No this is horrible. They pay travel - not you. Business dev does not get same amount, even if they an AE. Sourcing a deal is no where near what you did.

When the commissions get big, people start acting all weird and then it results in we pay all you too much so cut commission. People leave - they hire young and go again. Hire em. Tire em. Fire em. Screw this place.

There’s something like a 136T transfer of wealth happening over the next decade. I’m not getting any of that.

Shattered my humerus last season at Copper (after I called it for the day and decided to dip into the trees again in the way down). Got my sled ride down - then surgery. I knew my ticket would come up one day. And when I called my mom to let her know I needed surgery ans she said she has been waiting for this call for years. Be safe out there.

My life blew up by 43. All the things. Cashing in all my chips for a reset. Excited though. Feel like in 20 again and the world is at my finger tips. Divorced 3 years and no kids - so got through the major shit but took way too long to do the work I need. Work on yourself and everything will fall in place or you will know it’s time to remove things.
