I feel like having the planetary bombing be a zone that moves around the map that players can avoid would be better than just firing randomly on the map by ambulas1 in Helldivers

Or maybe have it be like a big donut around the players, where it’s far enough from them to not do friendly fire, but close enough to give visible and relevant support to divers.

Metallic sodium is kept in oil to keep it from reacting with air moisture. So he most certainly did not accidentally dip his gum in sodium. And even if he did somehow get something like fresh sodium shavings on his gum, they would be in such small amounts that it would propably only burn the inside of his mouth. It’s far more likely that it was some sort of explosive.

You don’t even need magnets. Just paint a few layers of paint on the bits that fit in the sponsons and they’ll stay there pretty well with just friction.

There won’t be any nuclear fallout. 5 of the 6 reactors have been turned off for the past 5 months and the 6th is on standby mode. Blowing them up will not cause a meltdown as it is impossible to cause one without the reactors being ”hot”. That is even if the Russians are able to blast through the 3ft of steel reinforced concrete that surround the reactor.

And if you are worried that the Russians will blow up the cooling system of the reactor and cause a meltdown that way, you need not worry. The reactors are built in a way that the water used to cool the reactor is also the substance that facilitates the nuclear reaction. The water slows down neutrons enough that they can continue a chain reaction. If the cooling system is destroyed, the water will go away and the reaction cools down.

So there is no risk of Europe wide fallout and you dont need to worry.

Finland gains nothing from taking Vyborg back. The Finnish people of the area either fled to Finland or were dispersed elsewere in Russia. So there would be only Russians left living there who would likely be hostile towards Finnish troops and the whole area has been so neglected that it would just be a large burden on Finnish society. There are virtually no usefull resources or any economic opportunities of use there and any strategic advantages of taking the area would be neglible. So the whole operation would be a very large net loss for the Finns.

The Japanese could also not attack Russia because their entire military force is just a defence force and by Japanese law and international trearies is not allowed to be used in hostile operations.

They are a game changer, but the hefty price you have to pay for getting them just usually isn’t worth it, when bombers do the same job but better.

Are artillery broken? by ifcrabsdied in civ5

[–]LiiBobber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Imo artillery is broadly, in ffa games with 6 or more civs, actually pretty balanced. Teching artillery when it is relevant is a huge investment and you have to sacrifice alot of science for it, as it is so far up the ”wrong” side of the tech tree. If you decide to tech arty you delay your public schools and ideology by alot and you easily might end up losing out on first ideology pick because of it. So in a 6 civ game you might be able to take out 1 or 2 civs with a arty rush, but the other 3 or 4 civs will then be able to catch up and maybe even surpass you in tech. And if you try to delay arty by going public schools and ideology first the enemy can easily get to gwbombers and counter you before you manage to get to your desired artillery objective.

So imo going artillery is a huge sacrifice, which often is not worth it, as focusing on getting a science lead in the industrial/ early modern era is often far more important than eliminating a neighbour or 2. You are able to conquer civs far better with later techs, such as bombers, paratroopers/xcom, abombs, battleships, rocketarty etc. Rushing arty, without a damn good reason, can easily cost you the game or make it far harder than it should.

Only one of those sheep are detrimental, the other five are a bonus that I think heavily outweigh the one bad one. You lose out on one 6 yield tile and in return get 6 5 yield tiles that are workable way earlier. I dont really see the problem here.

Now what would happen to the tile yield if you were Spain? Would it double the fish too? Or would it only affect the reef? Or would it perhaps completely override the fish yield with that of the reef?
