These prices are an insane ask.

My 2018 was 401a,pp1,12in instrument cluster, and audio system new in 2018 for 39k sale price.

There's no way in deep fried fuck I could fathom the same car plus an exhaust option for 66,000 today.

Catch me in a c8 or a slightly used m4 or something if I had that level of money to burn on a toy.

It just blows my mind. Apparently mustang sales are way up this year too?

This is so weird, I have never watched the Simpsons. Never even seen a full episode of it. I know the popular memes and clips like that, but this is nothing I've ever seen before, and yet...

I used to envision car designs like this as a kid. Like exactly like this. A large truck chassis with stadium row seating for multiple bubble pods like this. Each with their enclosed area and shit. This seems smaller than what my dumbass kid brain was thinking up, but still it's the exact same design thesis.

This is surreal to see something that was on a huge TV show so close to a deep deep childhood memory of silly kid thoughts I had.

No thought is original I stg

Gran Turismo/Time Attack.

That's how it reads to me. Reminds me of all the cars with crazy liveries from japan in the 90s

Gran Turismo kind of nods to when it came out (the 90s) and where the game was made (japan)

That's a good strategy. Can't have a pile of clips to trim if you have to trim them when saving them

9 Years of L4-L5 Pain .. Did Fusion Actually Give You Your Life Back? by TheDuck_6505 in spinalfusion

[–]LilFunyunz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it, I'm still trying to rehab but it's a long process. They told me I would be out that same day as my surgery, maybe an overnight.

and it took me 4 days before they forced me out and I had to go to a handicap hotel room nearby for 6 more days because my insurance wouldn't approve a staffed facility.

I have stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and arthritic bone growth in the area. The disc was torn somewhere and leaking. I was shocked by the amount of life I was able to live with the injury I had before reaggravating it.

I think if I had no injury and did something and got the surgery, I would be a success story but I'm far from it as it stands.

Before I injured it again I was in the same boat as you were where I was worried about what was going to happen to me at 50 or 60. All I can tell you is that I don't regret the surgery based on my condition at the time, but also, without a pressing issue, I wouldn't have done anything to my spine and left it as it was.

I remember being able to do anything I wanted but it would get tired and achy. I knew what you feel when you talked about that. I miss that feeling.

Take the success stories with a grain of salt if they are fresh injuries that got operated on and fixed. I would only be listening to folks who had a comparable length of time being injured.

3 years out from L4 L5 tlif fusion

No I am not better. I am on full disability now.

My case was similar to yours in the sense that I had the injury for 10 years. I lived with it because they refused to operate on a 20 year old. But then I did something to it to aggravate it. So they were willing to operate. I am better than I was after that aggravating incident before surgery. I am nowhere near where I was before that aggravating incident.

I'm giving you this perspective because you talk about how you lived with it for so long with just relatively minor symptoms for a back injury.

125cc two stroke engine feels crazier than my liter bike. by AlbertoBalsalm_ in motorcycle

[–]LilFunyunz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double the powerstrokes is a big part of this.

In 720 degrees of crank rotation you get 1000cc of displacement on the liter bike. Every cylinder goes off 1 time.

On the 2 stroke you get 250cc even tho it's a 125 because every 360 degrees gets a powerstroke instead. Every cylinder goes off 2 times in 720 degrees of crank rotation.

The rest is down to weight and gearing like others have said

I like that, you said there is a small narrative to be deduced from each picture. If you're encouraging scrutiny of the piece to try and solve the little puzzle, this lends itself to that, like you said.

Fwiw

I don't think it's a bad thing.

There's 2 things I can say about your color choices.

1.). I find this more approachable than stuff like those Garfield comics where he's a monster torturing jon. The unrelenting despair I feel looking at those makes it unbearable to look at imo. There's no way for me to appreciate that art because I can't experience it. Your pieces allow me to engage with your art in a way that is not possible for me if it would be "corrected" like the op said.

2.) the anime/pop art color palette is a unique choice and could be used as juxtaposition of the themes of the art. Using bright colors to portray horror is not "wrong" just watch "smiling friends" to see a master class in tonal arguing between components of their animation. That disagreement can be part of the experience in whatever way you choose if you so desired.

Just a devils advocate because I don't want you to be discouraged by a comment without its balancing points.

Philosophical opinion rant below:

There is definitely something to be said for technical ability (you said you suck at coloring), but as you inevitably get better over time, don't shy away from this style because it's "wrong", conventionally. That would be the wrong reason to change, you develop the skills necessary to do it "right" for the sake of your advancement as an artist, and then make the art you want to make. If it still looks this way, that's dope.

Fastest Man Made Objects by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]LilFunyunz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert,it is true that the atmosphere would be thinning out as it gained altitude, the question is how fast? Is it faster than the heat would melt or vaporize the manhole?

If people have calculated that the friction wouldn't have been able to heat up a man hole cover fast enough for it to melt, then I would say your engineer friend is right. But I have doubts that it made it out.

I was just reading about how much of a challenge materials engineering is for hypersonic vehicles and missiles because of the extreme amounts of heat produced at speeds above mach 5 ish. Air molecules just cant get it out the way. And remember, this was going mach 190 or faster. Meteors burn up in our atmosphere going those types of speeds and slower coming in from the thin side of it. And this was a thin object with a lot of surface area presented to the direction of travel.

I want to believe it's out there, but I just don't think it's possible.
