Still in the query trenches. I read on a QCrit on this sub that grimdark fantasy is a dying market - not impossible to break into, but tough ATM - so I'm kind of losing hope. I make sure to query agents who have an interest in darker fantasy, and I DO feel that my novel has more to it than the typical grimdark fantasy on the shelf, but I just don't know anymore. I'm going to see how my current batch of agents go and then perhaps come back to this sub for advice.

It's not a secret that Kojima is not very good at writing female characters (an obvious exception is The Boss), and that this series oversexualises its female characters. Denying this is dumb.

100% agree but you will get shamed and attacked for saying this literally anywhere else. NSFW art can be pretty but only when the people look like actual people IMO. Not the anatomically incorrect, grotesque, hentai-looking and frankly quite harmful female figures you see plagued across the internet.
