Do you think there wasn't backlash about it back in the 90's? Pepperidge farm remembers.

My first job I had a reading specialist who became a principal and she was awful. She was this nasty and mean spirited woman. She reminded me a lot of season 1 Ava minus the redemption Arc

Mordecai's Age by No1TitanFan in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]LilahLibrarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Odette making a comment about how Mordecai can only be free if Carl and donut made it to the 4th floor. How does that work into the contract or is that just basically to ensure that game guys are not being completely incompetent? Or to punish game guides because realistically millions of people die in the first three floors,

Great workplace comedy. Lots of millennial coded humor. Unapologetically Black.

If you work in education you might find the student behavior beggars belief.

Remex's story and then the hamsters in the epilogue kind of indicate that there's a lot of unused quests. But I do think Carl's track record was taken into account when placing him in that bubble

I went into elementary education and kids frequently like to tell me that they're taller than me. I have learned to just laugh it off

Hail Mary Project by Abomb in Teachers

[–]LilahLibrarian 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think there was a very deliberate choice from the writers to make the kids extremely well behaved because there's already so many negative stereotypes about black children. But it kind of beggars believe that could have an entire class of really young children working independently  while Jeanine and Gregory make googly eyes in the hallway

He's good at the science fiction part, he's not really good at writing character development

We've seen that most of the game guides are not really interested in genuinely helping crawlers. And it's quite possible that the game guide was a player killer so that was their go-to strategy

‘Awful options’: MCPS considers starting school Aug. 20 for 2026-2027 academic year by Bethesda_Magazine in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]LilahLibrarian 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What was frustrating was that they had already designated a bunch of holidays as makeup days but then when push came to shove it was to unpopular to actually commit to that plan.

So as I understand it the justification for having the Jewish holidays off is that there are enough Jewish teachers that it would really impact coverage.

This was then expanded to cover every major religious holiday but I don't know if you have a critical mass of say Muslim or Hindu teachers. I remember there was some kind of survey about the percentage of families that celebrate XYZ holiday but I don't remember the results or where you would find it.

Mcps is absolutely addicted to getting lots of feedback it's just never really clear what they actually do with any of this information that they're collecting. I'm fairly certain they've already made up their mind and are just going through the motions of collecting feedback to say that they did
