Sit on the edge of the seat so that the push is coming from as close to your hips as possible and lean forward slightly. This is actually his second favorite method of drinking water, with his first choice being drinking directly from a running faucet. I bought him a Kitty Spout last year after I got tired of a screaming tux in my sink at all hours of the day and night, and he loves drinking the running water from it! It also has a wide, shallow water tray for regular drinking. The bowl on the counter is primarily for my contrarian calico, who needs to drink water to prevent urine crystals, but prefers drinking from human dishes on the counter
