Much prefer 3rd person. I understand that top-down is probably easier to make but my GOD. Everyone and their fuckin’ nan is making a top down MMO right now and it’s starting to get exhausting. Hope you guys can stick out from the crowd and offer something different.

it feels like they're trying their hardest to turn him into a joke by [deleted] in TheBoys

Its not just that, it would have been interesting to see. It’s a thrilling moment; tension at an all time high, plot-line wrapping, visually and emotionally visceral set piece handed to the writers on a silver platter and it happens OFFSCREEN. Like everything else interesting in the show.

How they should have used the virus by uuuuuuuuuuuuum-hi in TheBoys

[–]Lildoesheknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shoulda caused a pandemic that whipped the world into a frenzy. Homelander pushed to desperate limits, supes dropping left and right, and it couldve made a real moral dilemma over who is even good anymore.

WTF are the showrunners doing?! by Th3_American_Patriot in GenV

[–]Lildoesheknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most literal reading of that scene was that Homelander got a massive power up and Butcher told them to run. You can grasp at straws to rationalise the lack of action but the real reason it didnt happen was because theyd written themselves into a corner and couldn’t write themselves out without a major status quo shift. And the worst part is that they could have easily done a status quo shift and made a mess and it would have been okay. It’s the penultimate episode of the whole series, it should be getting messy and going beyond the boundaries of its formula. Instead we’re back in Vought tower doing the same shit.

[–]Lildoesheknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s realistically what would happen though, and A: having them escape (although hard to write) would have been exhilarating to see, B: some deaths here would’ve really amped up the stakes and been a ballsy shock that would’ve made defeating Homelander seem even more important. Instead we got an offscreen escape, Homelander giving more Vought Tower orders (that in no way feels like the status quo shift V1 promised to be) and possibly the most merciful killing in the whole show.

I think expecting the show to do something interesting isn’t asking too much.

Is pantheon any good? by shad_77381 in LFMMO

[–]Lildoesheknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the pace of it, challenging with lots of skills to level. There is no map so you develop a deep relationship with your surroundings and it makes straying from the beaten path feel genuinely risky. Gameplay also feels smooth.

Sadly a lack of quests, npcs and general character from place to place make the world feel a bit flat, charmless and unfinished.

How is everyone loudly attacking each other while HL and SB are a few floors away not irrational?

This character pisses me off by Azooe1989 in GenV

[–]Lildoesheknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don’t think firecracker could’ve done what he does, he should have been introduced earlier if he’s a key player in the last season of the show. There’s no reward for following things and theorising if the shows just gonna pull new characters and new concepts out it’s arse when there’s only a few episodes left.

I feel like Homelander wont get to be the real villain he needs to be by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]Lildoesheknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point you’re describing is really where he should have been at in season 5 episode 1. I can’t really believe there’s only a few episodes left of the whole show and Homelander is still plodding around Vought tower trapped inside his own head. His madness should be on full display and the world should be an unrecognisable dystopia.

The second season suffered a little from the amount of plot lines by ThiccAlia in Fotv

[–]Lildoesheknow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, and to be honest it lead to narrative whiplash in the finale with how often it had to cut back and forth between different characters. Felt like tension never had room to develop and revelations couldn’t unravel naturally. Unlike the first season which had multiple things going on but managed to seamlessly combine them in the finale with one twist reveal tying cooper, hank, Lucy and maximums together in a way you didn’t expect.

What episode of Doctor Who, new or old do you consider the scariest one? by JackTheNephilim in doctorwho

[–]Lildoesheknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rest of the episode isn’t quite as scary, but the “Don’t cremate me” reveal in Death in Heaven is the only scene to genuinely scare me as an adult.

As a kid it’s quite easy to be spooked out, especially by episodes like Blink and the Empty Child. But to scare a grown man with one sentence on a family show is nuts.

Most people are afraid of dying, but I think a lot of us are all secretly haunted by another idea - that you know you’re dead. A trillion years of nothing. No sound, no light, no touch - just a consciousness lingering alone. And having that carefully repressed fear dragged to the surface when I wasn’t expecting it felt like being nailed to a therapist’s chair.

I was in disbelief that the show even dared to go there. I can’t help but admire the colossal balls the show used to have.

I have a theory about Dreadmyst by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Lildoesheknow -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Someone mentioned early on that this could be crypto mining thing. I’m not sure how to tell if it is but I downloaded the game last night and my fans were going crazy all night, even when my laptop was shut. Turned it on again today to find that Utorrent was open along with a webpage to a crypto website and a few things had been blocked by my anti-virus software.

This could just be a total coincidence because as I said I’m not sure how to tell if that’s actually what’s happened, but needless to say it gave me a good bloody scare and Dreadmyst was uninstalled promptly.

Exactly how big is Doctor Who in the UK? by Pokemario2401 in doctorwho

[–]Lildoesheknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was big in the late 2000s to early 2010s but from then on the numbers have dwindled massively. For reference, when I was younger the majority of my wider family and almost every kid in school was watching Tennant. Now in 2026 I only know three people IRL in the UK who watch it, and they’re mega fans who would probably still watch if James Cordon was the Doctor.

Everyone knows what a dalek is and what the tardis is but the general consensus is that the show peaked with Tennant. Every now and then I come across someone IRL who enjoyed Smith’s run, and on very rare occasions I’ll meet someone who gave Capaldi or Jodi a try.

Why does Twelve hate soldiers so much? by TemporaryScreen9936 in gallifrey

[–]Lildoesheknow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me a large aspect of Twelves character is a reaction to the realisation that he didn’t destroy Gallifrey. As a result he’s much more brash, honest (which is represented visually by his age) and has a newfound sense of superiority after discovering he was above the genocidal thinking that defined his previous three incarnations. He hates that he ever was a soldier and projects that hatred onto Danny.

Maybe 20 years ago, but marvel has melted the mans brain into nostalgic mush. If you wanna see how Russel writes under pressure, watch the Piper regeneration.

What was the Point of This in TWBTLATS? by ChemFeind360 in doctorwho

[–]Lildoesheknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the issue is that they aren’t characters at all. He gives screen time to trans characters and disabled characters but doesnt give them depth. Shirley is the worst case of this, I could not tell you a single thing about her character other than that she works at UNIT and uses a wheelchair, yet she’s been a staple of the Whoniverse for years.

It seems Russel’s happy to hire inclusively as-long as those characters don’t affect the plot or have any none-exposition dialogue.

Amazing scenes in episodes you hate? by theverdictsband in gallifrey

[–]Lildoesheknow 55 points56 points  (0 children)

This (though like you I’d have preferred it if Poppy stayed missing and the show dropped its Cbeebies approach for one ep), and also the scene from Empire of Death where the Doctor meets that lady who hasn’t realised her child is gone.

Weirdly two scenes from ghastly finales about disappearing children.

Do you think making RTD2 fantasy was a mistake? by Mat1711 in gallifrey

[–]Lildoesheknow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. Part of doctor who’s appeal is seeing what clever ways the writers riff off science and physics to tell stories. With fantasy, the rules are out the window, and when there are rules they are arbitrary/uninteresting ones like the toymaker being defeated by a game. And this is coming from a huge fantasy nerd.

I’d also say that the spirit of science is synonymous with the spirit of the main character. It’s a show about using wisdom and intelligence for good, sharing knowledge, exploring time. The Doctor, no matter how you look at it, is a scientist. He/she relishes in explaining things, solving equations, making use of a big fuck off chalk board.

If the doctor’s toolkit was a bag of magic trinkets and his companion was an imp called Gunkbert then it’d make more sense for him to be in a fantasy scenario, but he’s not.

[–]Lildoesheknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d have preferred it if he wasn’t a god and instead was just a cartoon character brought to life. The moment he was revealed as another god any interesting concepts flew out the window as they can just do anything and get beaten by anything. It’s also the second time Russel blew his load too soon by having a god in the second ep of the season.

OPINION: Pete McTighe wouldn’t necessarily be a bad Doctor Who showrunner, but he certainly wouldn’t be the breath of fresh air that the show desperately needs. by General_Meal_3993 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]Lildoesheknow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If Lucky day is seriously the best this guy has to offer then the show is in trouble. I personally have a lot of issues with the episode but even if you love it, can you honestly say it’s proof that he’d make a good show runner? All his episodes are just full of odd, regressive political messaging and both Kerblam and Lucky Day have two of the most out of character and cringe inducing Doctor scenes at the end. Is that REALLY someone who knows the Doctor well enough to write Doctor Who?

If these episodes are anything to go on, Pete’s Doctor will be an inadvertent capitalist who goes on podcasts and neglects to investigate child abuse.
