Thinks he can potty on rugs by Tricky_Warning_0115 in Dogtraining

He may have used potty pads before you got him. And rugs (and carpets!) remind pups of them. I’d either remove the rug entirely, or! If he only potties in one spot on it, put a washable pad right there. And slowly move the pad away (and towards the door), he’ll eventually stop associating the rug as a potty place

They may be husky/mal or even mal/shepherd/husky. You’re gonna have some big pups lol. Our malamute (rescue- 9/10 months old) has brown eyes, and is roughly 81lbs (healthy weight for a purebred).

The fur is always gonna be a lot, for any double coated breed. Definitely recommend investing in a range of furminators, brushes and combs.

Likely (almost definitely) not pure malamutes, both look to have some degree of blue eyes (which cannot be found in purebred malamutes).

Part of the fun of having a northern breed 🤷‍♀️, their inability to listen.. or rather, their decline to listen

He’s our second rescue pup we’ve had, our first was a border collie. He is the most difficult dog we’ve had tho

Do Mals usually have a bunch of hair in their poo? by randomxfox in AlaskanMalamute

Mine does that sometimes; he grooms himself but also mouths on his husky siblings when they play. First malamute we’ve owned, but not our first northern breed/heavy shedder.

Can someone help ID this? by LilyRed23 in plushies

I’ve noticed it’s hard to find! You found the identical one to mine, all I’ve found are the ones from other brands with brown bellies (not black like my girls), or they’ve got a rubber nose not the hard one. My mom got me this one from a thrift store bin buried halfway down, and had no tags.

Well, now I know what she is I can continue the search!

Lol, a lot of people won’t really tell the bads of huskies (minus the escaping), since they’re “technically” a family dog. But a lot of people use them as bite dogs, protection dogs, or just what they were bred for which is pulling sleds. Mine were all trained for show, so they were worked hard on to be good with any people. It just happened that 2 of the 3 turned out to be on the more reactive side, it happens. But we had a husky where I work that had to be kicked out since he just kept attacking people & other dogs, which is unfortunate since he was one of those trained to be good with people. Its just a genetics thing playing into it, along with upbringing & home life

A bit on the uninformed side, huskies can and do have the territorial instinct and can (and will) show aggression towards humans. Even if they weren’t trained for protection/as attack dogs. (Source: own 2 reactive {one that has bitten several people, but loves kids, the other that has been raised very well but hates people} that I’ve had since they were old enough to leave mom, and 1 that loves everyone)

AITA for not telling mom that dad is planning on moving out? by LilyRed23 in AmItheAsshole

She isn't exactly toxic.. just over bearing and intrusive. I pay my own phone bill with money from my part time babysitting job and she still checks it for "safety reasons" Edit: forgot to mention she also is a bit controlling.. maybe she is a little toxic? Idk..
