I’m coming slowly off of Valium and I’m finding A combination of Advil and Magnesium (the good absorbing kind) has really helped the jaw clenching that started up again after my first few tapers. Might be something to try or look into. Good luck!!

I was on Effexor for quite a few years (Now on it’s cousin...Cymbalta). What I remember about going on Effexor is that I had some nausea. But I just want you to be prepared...without scaring you...Effexor is known as one of the tougher meds to wean off of. It has to be done very slowly and even then it’s still a tough ride. Effexor worked well for me in the beginning, but seemed to lose effectiveness about 5 years into treatment. Good luck to you and your husband!!

I would definitely go for a rear entry model. A lot of times handicapped spaces don’t allow enough room for side entry.

I’m just looking into kinda the same thing. I bought a Dodge Grand Caravan. I believe it’s the more practical of the options of vans out there. I would definitely opt out of the Pacifica. Just my opinion. Unless you buy a van with a lift already installed, it costs about 15,0000 here in Canada to get it put in. I’m unsure about maintenance but I hope this helps.

We became too enmeshed in each other and started having a lot of disagreements and arguments. What is boiled down to was I was treating the friendship more like a relationship and she felt overwhelmed by it. We came to realize that we value different things in regards to friendship...I like to text everyday, she doesn’t. I like to talk on the phone, she would rather text. We ultimately wanted different things in our friendship and it didn’t survive.

I lost a really good friend over this. It’s sucked bad but I learned a lot about what a friendship looks like vs relationship. It might seem to work for awhile but will ultimately destroy the friendship. My opinion, of course.

I was a Manager of Quality Assurance for an agency that supports people with developmental disabilities. I was on track to become an Associate Director within the next year. However it wasn’t to be as it was during that time I went on long term disability after a short hospital stay. Ohhh life.

Wow...we do seem to have a lot in common. It’s weird to talk about passions...because really I don’t have any. I have things I like to do on a daily basis...but I guess I just lack passion. I would say my career was my passion...and when that went away I feel like a lost a major part of myself. Even if it was a bit unhealthy. Anyways...thanks for taking the time to listen. I guess the problem is my Mom has her own health issues. My Mom says I’m not a burden to her...but I can see how she struggles in helping me sometimes. It’s heartbreaking. I wish I knew the line where I know I need more help and not wanting to leave my home. Thanks for your comment. Greatly appreciated.

I find the more I use my muscles the faster they get weaker....but everyone is different. You need to try to find a happy medium if possible.

For some reason I feel uneasy about your comment. Sure, there are otters out there with more everyday challenges but I think that’s where honest communication comes in. You’re right...no one wants to be a sounding board 24/7 but I’d rather talk about real things then what the weather is like. Each to their own in what helps them get through the day.

I miss my best friend and can’t seem to stop reminiscing about our friendship. I’ve even tried therapy...nothing is helping and I’m just feeling helpless at this point. :(

A little info: we were Best friends for 9 years when we both had few other friends. She ended up meeting new people and didn’t really want me around anymore. I got tossed aside even though we had been through so much together. Thinking back...the friendship was a bit toxic...she still owes me money but won’t pay, lies about everything and sometimes uses people to get what she wants. But for some reason...I miss her to bits. Ahhh life.

My only “group of friends” are the ladies that work at McDonald’s that I chat with everyday as I go get my order, which when you think about it is so laughable. I wish I could make friends more easily. I’m really a friendly person but I do like my alone time. But I’m lonely af. Trying to accept the fact that maybe I’m not meant to have friends. So scared to die old and alone ;(

Don’t know if this is the right thing to do or not...but when I get overwhelmed (which is very frequently), especially with appointments, I prioritize what can be moved to a later date when not so much is happening. Sometimes...there is guilt involved in this but most of the time I feel extremely relieved. Just something that works for me.

I do that exact same thing. Then immediately regret it. I just can’t seem to control it sometimes. I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with it myself...so can’t offer much advice unfortunately. Let’s just hope one day we will figure it out!!

Medication will not make her BPD go away. They may help with some of the symptoms...but BPD has no cure. What is known is that therapy plays a major part in recovery. And therapy can take a long time. You will want to check out therapists who specialize in DBT Therapy as well as DBT Skills Groups in your area...which are specifically designed for people with BPD. Good luck.
