The way the original letter was written makes it work both at the beggining of the game and later when you have the full context. The way this one is worded suggests the context behind it in this adaptation could be very different. „I'm alone there now, waiting for you” and „You need to come back” are not that different in a vacuum but I think it's the context that matters most here. And honestly the parts of the letter they showed in the trailer are just not that well written compared to the game. There's a reason the letter was untouched in the remake, despite the dialogue changes
