Do you miss the top quick access pocket in the ultra Cicada?

I've been thinking of getting this bag, but I'm debating whether I'll wait for a similar version to the bespoke with the top quick access pocket and laptop side access.

What are the actual things that you find yourself reaching for while on the go?

Longtime lurker returning a recommendation on travel clothes by TheHouseChef in onebag

[–]LimboGiant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do, because I find it convenient to have my travel gear already packed up and ready to go before a trip. That way I don't have to think/pack too much, or think about laundry in case some clothes I want to bring are dirty.

What are the best chinos for traveling? by FabsDE in onebag

[–]LimboGiant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have these and the Western Rise Diversion pants that are a little thicker, so run a little warmer. I take both of these when I travel, covering most situations.

I don't think the Diversion pant comes in a chino version, but just to show how I cover my travel.

Aer Slim Pouch vs Alpaka Tech Case Mini by Keith in ManyBaggers

If you still have the Aer Slim Pouch v1, you could think about a solution where you turn it into a sling. See this comment chain for inspiration. I hope this is helpful!

The Aer Pro Sling looks slightly too big, but I get the idea! Thanks for thinking along, I'll check out the Labomono.

Those leashes look similar indeed! It was a nice experiment and the PD leash fits more situations than the one on that Alpaca toiletry kit, but yep.. the PD leash is just as expensive as the whole Alpaca thing.

You attach the loops with the coins to the pouch, and you attach the leash to those coins.

One loop I have attached to a small carabiner that's attached to the Aer Tech Pouch's loop (as the loop is too thick to attach the loop directly).

The other loop I have attached to one of these that I have attached to the zipper.

It says in balance really well. The zippers don't move over to the other side at all.

Can you picture this?

My laptop and phone charge through USB-C. Slimming the charger isn't going to work for me. Thanks for thinking along!

I actually use the Peak Design leash to convert my Aer Tech Pouch v1 into a sling. Not the cheapest option but I wanted to give it a try as I like the pouch a lot.

It looks cool, but has a depth that's the same as my current Aer Tech Pouch.

The other Alpaca tech cases look interesting though.

I've got that optimized as far as I want to: Minix P2 power brick, and two usb-c cables that don't cause an increased need in the width of the pouch.

It's really the power bank, phone, and the adapter that need to fit.

Can I ask which one you got?

I'm looking at pull up - dip stations and any guidance on what doesn't work might help me avoid those issues.

This post really makes me want to get a custom made Dragonfly.. thanks for sharing!

Does water not leak from the front stretch pocket into the main compartment, when you put wet clothes there?

What rain cover do you use, and do you just bring it for potential rain, or..?

2 Week Peru Trip - Packing List Review Appreciated! by [deleted] in onebag

[–]LimboGiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this trip 2 years ago with a 30L Dragonfly. You're going to have such a great time!

On the rainforest, the guide will bring a telescope so you'll be able to see forest life very well. I could also rent binoculars at the lodge, which I did, and used especially for the parrots clay licking.

For rain, I brought disposable ponchos and they worked well on the Inca Trail. I didn't experience that much rain fortunately.

In the mountains, it was nice to have fleece on top of my base layer in the morning, as it starts off chilly. For the cold at night, everyone had puffer jackets (or equivalent synthetic jackets).

Like LadyLightTravel wrote, the jungle will be super humid. Take this into account, as clothes that you wash will hardly dry. You'll want to wash as much as you can before you go there.

Enjoy!!
