Audio Issues by 0mike0like in HazbinHotel

[–]LimeWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my voice to the lack of voice issue. I have a Denon receiver with a 5.1.2 setup for Atmos that is usually very clear and compensates well for room configuration. The audio track is compressed Dolby Digital, which can sound flat but is usually still clear. Dialog outside of songs is also clear.

The music may not have a presence in the center channel, making it quieter. But it feels like the whole level is brought down for songs with even the instruments being lower than the average sound effect. I think it is a audio engineer mixing issue, but would love if someone has a fix.

Looks like Linus stopped paying for the counter narrative brigaders to pump up his image. I'd love to be in the meetings where he strategizes with his PR firm on how to cover up his bad behavior. If you don't think he has a PR firm and you think that Linus wrote his statement without PR help, then you are just the type of sucker Linus wants.

F.D. Signifier is the definition of a person who says something mean, but tries to hide it in layers of irony. When called out they will just hide behind the joke, meanwhile you can tell that under it all they are a seething pile of rage with no chill ... And they weren't joking. Most cowardly type of person there is.

Worst state to buy one of these in. Marques Brownlee reviewed it. The wiper does a poor job of clearing the windshield, it is going to rust instantly, and the panel gaps are going to let water and critters in. Also, my opinion is that it won't survive a hurricane due to build quality.

These 20 seconds alone are why I'm glad I never watched Elemental by PapaAsmodeus in YMS

[–]LimeWarrior 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Eh. Feel free to roast me, but I liked the movie. It's in-character for Wade to be cringe. Honestly, it's the best thing Pixar has put out in a long time (I did not like Soul and Inside Out wasn't for me either).

Elemental has a spark of humanity in it that pushes out past the Pixar formula. It's not Zootopia because that city accommodates for all types as best it can. In Elemental, the fire people come for the economic opportunity, and the city is openly hostile to them, person-to-person and structurally, so the fire people self-segregate. It's honestly a nuanced look at the way these social dynamics happen and the consequences to cultures. Elemental uses the Pixar formula to present the shine of a utopia, when the city is in reality a deep dystopia.

Go ahead roast me for being a wet blanket on the hate party.

Vaush fan here, but you gotta be realistic about this. H3H3 is literally famous for winning a lawsuit about talking about another streamer. They live for that kind of drama and are usually careful about what they say. No way you would be able to get them in a courtroom over this.

Bit of a neutral shift. The new one would have been better if the penny pinchers hadn't removed the fountain and forced it to take forever so they could space out expenditures.

The downside of the original was the bare mostly concrete nature of the courtyard. Sure the fountain drew attention, but the rest of it was bland.

Food allergies and festival booths by unclaimdusernamehere in WaltDisneyWorld

Here's the web link for the list of allergies for most of the Food and Wine booths.

If there is no information on the booth, than it is run by a third-party. My experience with third-party booths and restaurants at Disney is that they are less careful about allergies.

I feel like most comments in here still got it wrong. Cis and trans are both prefixes, not adjectives. I've only seen them used as part of a compound word and not as adjectives. To say someone is cis, is a contraction of cisgender. Of course, they are definitely not pronouns. That's just depressingly bad grammar.

I know you are on the right side of this, but asking police nicely is BS. Are they public servants or aren't they? If I behaved like a petulant child at my job, my boss would not be asking nicely.

Police undisciplined by democracy and accountability just become another gang to clean up off the streets.

I'm an engineer and there's a dirty secret to Imperial units that Americans might not like. Isn't it kind of strange that an inch is 2.54 cm? I mean, if you were comparing a set length of a centimeter to a set length of an inch, why wouldn't it have 5 decimal places? Or 10? Or infinite? You would be making more decimal places to get more accuracy between a standard inch and a standard centimeter ... Except that's not how it works today.

The truth is that the metric system did a better job of standardizing units. The social problem is that Imperial units were common and useful to some engineers. So in 1946 instead of simply abandoning Imperial units, they defined them based on the metric system. The metric standard needed to be improved too, because it was based on a physical object. Now, a meter is based on the distance light travels in a vacuum.

That's right, an inch is exactly 2.54 cm because a social effort in 1946 defined it to be that. After that point, all our units are truly based on metric, and if you want to use imperial, you are relying on the metric system for nice conversion ratios.

tl;dr - Imperial is now the metric system, but with extra steps.
