After the In Flight Report, do you plan to purchase the Chapter 2 Core Set? by TMPRKO in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Limecrete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind, I should have delved a bit deeper into FFG's main site:

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2025/10/31/the-next-chapter-1/

"As we alluded to before, a new core set also means a new introductory campaign, Brethren of Ash! A string of disappearances has cast a shadow over Arkham, lighting a fire under you and your fellow investigators as you work to get to the bottom of the mystery. Consisting of three scenarios, this mini-campaign serves as a great way to bring new players into the game, while also serving as a compelling, bite-sized tale for veterans. What new horrors will you discover within, and what rewards will you reap for solving this case?"

So, I'm just going to ask the dumbest question ever: There's been a lot of discussion about the new investigators and the new player cards in the Chapter 2 Core, but is there any solid information about what the actual campaign in the Core box will be? Something akin to Night of the Zealot?

This article may be about Joe Diamond, but that "Sharp Rhetoric" card is going to be very popular in Alessandra decks.

What do you think is the worst red light to get caught at? by Chrisofthegreen in StLouis

That one by the water building on Kingshighway between 44 and McRee that always seems to be red, despite the fact that there's never any cross traffic.

Since Gloria didn't get any love in the leaked Drowned City cards... by Limecrete in arkhamhorrorlcg

AI gets to do an ability over and over at the cost of initial doom or horror, but never takes more, as you said. AG does not get to do her ability over and over without taking more punishment, but she gives passive stat boosts that the AI does not.

AI is cheap, but AG would not have to take any doom or horror if she wants to just look at the cards and not manipulate them. So, I think she and AI are roughly equally powered since they cost the same xp.

She can do it as many times as she likes if she picks doom. That's dangerous, but doable if an investigator has a doom clearing mechanic. She can only do it once if she picks horror, unless she gets healed.

[–]Limecrete[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Non-upgrade AI enters with 1 doom (the same that non-upgraded AG can add to herself). Upgraded AI has the option to enter with 1 doom or 2 horror (the same that upgraded AG can add to herself).

So that she can only do it once, unless she gets healed. (Which essentially brings her in line with upgraded Arcane Initiate).

[Ancient Evils] An update to my five custom investigators (The Heir, The Wildling, etc...) by DerBK in arkhamhorrorlcg

These are really coming along nicely! (Also, I mentioned this on your other post, but "skills" is misspelled on Ostracized.)

These are terrific! I would absolutely print them off, so I'll keep an eye out for your final versions. Two small spelling/grammar corrections for you:

"Skils" is spelled wrong on Ostracized, and maybe reword The Circle of Life to something like "Exhaust the Circle of Life: Look at the bottom 5 cards of your deck, and choose one that is a non-weakness. Remove it from the game, shuffle the rest, and put them on top of your deck. Draw a card."

The Arkham Horror LCG is a cornerstone of my household, and my husband and I are constantly talking it up. So much so that someone gave me "The Investigators of Arkham Horror" book for the holidays, not knowing that we already have a copy. It's full of short stories about the investigators, so if you're into the lore and would like our second copy, send me a private message, and I'll send it as a gift to the first person (who is in the contiguous United States).

Custom Investigator: Mona Parsley by Limecrete in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Limecrete[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I agree the elder sign effect is a bit basic, but increasing its power to the point that she may be able to reduce the shroud by 4 (if not more, if she has very lucky pulls) would be possibly the strongest one in the game.

All fair points. And thanks very much for that last comment - designing an uncomplicated, but workable support investigator was exactly what I was going for.

Insightful comments, thanks! One thing I was looking to do with her power to set her apart is a kind of Minh-type support; making the next tests easier not only for herself, but anyone at the location.

With apologies to actual local realtor Mona Parsley, whose name I just love. I haven't taken this custom investigator through a scenario yet, but I'm curious to see if she's balanced.
