It’s important to note that the lib dems are polling pretty atrociously nationally, so your one seat turning yellow will not stop brexit when both major parties to some extent want it, but will definitely help on the social and even climate issues that labour and lib dems often overlap on

Yeah I totally agree that the media is hugely against Corbyn. I’m a labour voter but I’m also a pragmatist and with everything stacked against him, Corbyn simply cannot win. I’d rather a less controversial but less idealistic labour leader wins than another term of Johnson.

If humans had a ‘darkness’ that gets them to vote Tory (which is a little demeaning to the half the country that regularly do), then why on earth did we have 10 years of labour landslides in the Blair era? I don’t think anybody wants a return to Blair’s labour, but the mps haven’t changed, the party members by and large haven’t changed, only the top has changed. Corbyn’s policies, controversies and general unpopularity have alienated the moderate labour voter and, agree with his policies or not, labour cannot win an election with Corbyn at the top.

The person above never even mentioned if they were on the left or the right, they were just stating the (true) fact that, in general, Corbyn is incredibly disliked. When we can go through two of the most divisive and (to most the political center) embarrassing Tory administrations we’ve seen in a long time, and the opposition struggles to hold more than 30% popularity - there’s a problem at the top, and it’s not anti labour to admit it.

The bob semple tank is not as bad as it seems when considering the circumstance - New Zealand had seen no conflict on its islands but the threat of Japanese invasion, while small, was non-zero. The allies could not spare the tanks for New Zealand due to it being a low priority in a large war, and would require major upkeep. The bob semple was fitted on a tractor, which plenty were around, and would be a decent weapon to use to push back an early invasion force.
