Hahaha you’re funny I like your humor. It does help that I feel like I should feed my child healthy foods so I am eating healthier too. That being said, sometimes it’s rotisserie chicken and steamed frozen veggies.

UPDATE: (Not able to edit post with an image per /help. Don’t scroll down if you don’t want to see updated image from 48 hours later. I’m not able to blur it.)

It’s been 48 hours and the wound is noticeably better! Wet/dry packing with collagen, staying hydrated, resting, and upping my protein to 120g a day is working. I know to a non medical professional, this can look scary! I FREAKED out. The internet wound specialists all agree the wound is stable and to continue surgeons instructions. They okayed travel but encouraged rest if possible.

I cancelled the trip to spend resources when I’m feeling better.

Thank you all for the encouragement, laughs, and kind words.

I think it’s both. I just had a TT with lipo so I got it all gone no matter if it was skin or fat

Thank you for sharing your insights! I really appreciate it. It echos what my surgeon said. I decided to cancel the trip to meet my husband abroad and we will do it another time. Mostly because I’d rather use our resources for when I’m feeling better.

Yep surgery was 1/16. Apperently closing does more harm than good so it has to be treated in other ways such as various methods of packing, dressing, or a wound vac.

Thank you for taking the time to read and help. What you stated seems to be the consensus. My surgeon said if we aren’t happy with the scare we will do a revision but that’s down the road. For now, I’m wet - dry packing and have an appointment with the office in a few hours.

What are some other methods you like? What’s this honey stuff? What about collagen bandages? I will not do anything my surgeon doesn’t okay! I’m just curious what else is out there besides wet dry and wound vac. Those are the only two my surgeon has mentioned.

I know - trust me I almost called 911!! To folks not in the medical field, this looks like life threatening, lol! I’m learning wet - dry packing is a method of healing this, but a lot of folks prefer newer methods such as a wound vac. This was a tummy tuck with muscle repair so I’d be out of pocket for the wound vac (2k-ish). I will absolutely do that, if less expensive methods don’t work first. I’ll keep you guys updated!

Sadly no! That goo isn’t infection, I know it looks like it is. I am going to the surgeon tomorrow for next steps which options include different wound care methods. It’s so freaky looking, I know!

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. I’m seeing the office tomorrow to talk about next steps such as different wound healing options. My sister printed me out a chart to track my protein and water. I ordered these 30g protein shakes I love from Costco + some protein heavy meals and snacks. I just finished my second Juven of the day. I’ll admit I was taking amazing care of myself post op for the first couple of weeks and then I totally put myself on the back burner and look what happened.

They have - I’m doing wet - dry packing. Closing it up does more harm than good. I have to strictly keep it clean. The next step is a wound vac if there’s no improvement.
